Thompson Cigar

Ok, before i get bashed, I've read about how their house blends suck and how they are pushy with the sales calls. They have a cigar that i've been looking for at a good price and free shipping. Is it worth bothering to order from them? THANKS

Re: Thompson Cigar

My opinon.... Hell No!!!
I ordered from them back in Jan, they never sent me my order and now refuse to refund my money stating they already have. I made my payment through ****** and the case has not been setttled yet.

Think of Thompsons like that hot but kind of slutty chick at the bar.

You know you will enjoy it in the short term, but the lingering effects could haunt you for years.

The reviews sounded great. And at 48 shipped it seems like a decent price

Re: Thompson Cigar

I have ordered from Thompsons and have had good customer service. I say that because the cigars had mold on them and I had to return them. Thompsons also has a store that I have been to many of times. The store is run by a really good group of guys.

This being said, if I'm placing an order I go elsewhere.

Re: Thompson Cigar

TBH, I bought a nice humidor from Thompsons when I first started smoking. I had no problem with them whatsoever, other than it took forever for it to be delivered.

I just hear too many horror stories to recommend them to someone.

Re: Thompson Cigar

Sounds good. I found that Emerson's had them after i posted about thompsons. Just went ahead and ordered from Emersons. Said they only had 4 in stock. Hope that was accurate.

I've had good cs with Thompson, fast delivery both times I ordered, once a jar of humigel had opened and spilled all over, they got me a new one out pronto free of charge, just my experience.

Re: Thompson Cigar

I ordered some Rocky Patel Autumn 2008 Salomons last December from Thompson's on a buy 2 offers, get the 3rd free deal. So, I ordered 2 10-packs to get the third 10 pack 'free'. They moved the so called 'availability' date up twice. Finally, when they moved it to Feb, 2011, I called and cancelled the order. They wanted to know if they could substitute another item and I said no, just refund money. It took about a week to get it credited back on my card. Meanwhile, they start calling your phone number looking to sell you something. I told the girl to lose my number since I don't intend to deal with them again. I still haven't found one person who's been successful purchasing those RP 2008 Salomons from them.

Re: Thompson Cigar

I've ordered a few things from Thompson's with no issues other than it taking two months to get my shipment (overseas) because they refuse to use USPS (which takes 5-7 days), but rather send space "A" to Japan. Across the board their prices are on the high side. Case in point, they are trying to sell 601 Blue Toro's for $200 a box and I just ordered a box of 601 Robusto's from Atlantic cigar for $94........Emerson's is excellent! I use them all the time, with prompt shipping (they include a 69% humidipack in zip locks) with every shipment and their Opus pricing is very reasonable.

Re: Thompson Cigar

When I first started smoking I ordered from them time to time. I never had a problem with them not sending my cigars but they always arrived dried out. It'd take a couple of months at the minimum in a humidor to bring them back. That's why I quit buying from them about 6 years ago. There are plenty of other better places to mail order cigars from if that's the way you prefer to get your smokes.

My facial hair is real not drawn on. Also those cigarettes would be lit :r Obviously they other way around.

Honestly though TN allergies prevent me from ever smoking another cigarette. It's a good thing to be honest, as otherwise those little bastards would have easily gotten me till the day I died.

Quite obviously I have an addictive personality.....to say the least.

I made the mistake of ordering some pricy Padrons from them, and within 24 hours they called me to try to sell me something else. I found them way too pushy, but I did get the Padrons within a reasonable timeframe.

It took three phone calls to get me off their mailing list for their catalog of value cigars, none of which I had the least inclination to buy.

I give them a wide berth.

I have only ordered one thing from Thompson and it came on time however too many of my friends and associates have had too many problems with the company. I would suggest staying away.

Prices too high at Thompsons.
Emerson's is a really good sight to check for Anejo and Opus. Never had any issues with them.
