Favorite Vitola
So, I've come to the conclusion that my overall favorite vitola is a corona. Not sure why exactly, I just find myself gravitating toward this particular size more often. So, what's you favorite vitola?
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Lancero, followed swiftly by figurado :tu
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Corona here, too. Best flavor of almost any blend I like. Tatuaje Noella comes to mind as a great example of this.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
It's hard for me to zero in on one. I'd say depending on how much time I have either pc, robusto, toro or lancero.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
It is more of a ring gauge thing for me with 42-48 being the sweet-spot.
My current favorite smoke is the Tatuaje Havana Cazadore. There was a time that I didn't like anything south of 50 in ring gauge, but then I realized it was just because I was smoking lousy cigars. As I moved up towards the top shelf I realized I enjoy the smaller ring gauges much more |
Re: Favorite Vitola
I find myself smoking mostly robustos, but love a good figurado. I also tend to enjoy corona, petite corona, corona gorda, lancero, dalias. Hell, if it tastes good I smoke it, just not much north of about 50 rg, preferable in the mid 40's.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Somewhat in order: corona gorda, corona, bellicoso, lonsdale, petite corona, lancero
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Corona and Figurado for sure. I've been smoking alot of Tat Hermosos and Noellas...something about the 42-46 ring gauge that I prefer. I can't remember the last time I had a churchill size or anything over 7 inches other than an Anejo #48 which was delicious.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Belicoso, Robusto, Toro, Corona...in that order. Just learning to SLOW DOWN and enjoy lanceros.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I love me a good corona. Like others said I don't really like em too far north of 50 rg.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
If I had to pick a favorite I'd probably go with corona as well, and I rarely buy anything above a 50rg.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Just one size? Pick just one? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Depending on day, how much time I have, what flavor I am looking for, what mood I am in, who I am with, whether I am outside in the wind or not, what did I just eat, what am I drinking, etc... It might be: Petite Corona Robusto Double toro Churchill Toro Lancero Panatela et... Whatever is in my humidor is one of my favorites. Peace of the Lord be with you. |
Re: Favorite Vitola
Bellicoso and Lonsdales. I've really started to get into some of the smaller RG stuff; trying to understand wrapper differences better.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
perfecto, toro, and then corona
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I'd have to say lonsdale but they are rarely sold on the resale market...

Re: Favorite Vitola
It depends on the cigar and the moment. If I'm going to watch a two hour movie then a nice churchill works best.
If I'm in it for the flavor and complexity of the cigar a nice lancero or corona works for me.:2 |
Re: Favorite Vitola
No love for the mareva? :lv
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Anything under 50 RG unless its a belicoso
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Robusto, Corona Gorda, Toro ,Belicoso and Corona in that order. Can't understand why Lanceros are so popular, but different strokes I reckon.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I prefer a corona gorda. Max I'll smoke is 7 inches and a 54 ring.

Re: Favorite Vitola
Depends on the cigar. Some cigars/blends I prefer in a narrower/smaller format, others, a larger format.

Depends on the blend. There is always one vitola that is perfect for a blend and, to me, it's rarely anything larger than 6x50 toro and it's usually the smaller rg formats. I prefer; lanceros coronas petite coronas lonsdales dalias marevas Here are more answers: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showth...=favorite+size http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showth...light=favorite |
Re: Favorite Vitola
Late to the party, but much love for the Mareva. Minuto's and Perla's too. Those are favorites, not to say Campanas and Piramides don't get some of my time.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
My favorites sizes tend to be in the PC, Lancero and Robusto range as these are the vitolas I tend to buy the most of, but, I like em all really. :ss
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Lancero
Corona Petite Corona I started liking the Torpedo... But, starting seeing it as a gimmick |
Re: Favorite Vitola
I'm torn between lonsdales and laguitos.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I love Corona but I find myself smoking more Robusto size then anything else.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
pc for both nc and cc

Re: Favorite Vitola
I'm finding that I tend to gravitate towards the robusto and belicoso sizes.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I usually go with corona gorda or robusto, but i'll smoke any size as long as I like the flavor.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I tend to go through different cycles, last year I was craving anything box pressed, mostly in a robusto, toros, or torpedos. Lately I can't get enough churchills or lanceros. Still mostly maduro of course...
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I am all over the place depending on the mood/time/marca. One of my favorites as far as the feel is a taco. Pretty much narrows down the marca too considering current production!!
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
i think my second fav is robusto. i love me some box pressed anything though
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
belicoso
corona lonsdale petite robusto |

Re: Favorite Vitola
I think I most often go with either Robusto, Corona Gorda, or Piramid, but I do enjoy DCs and Churchills from time to time.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I wind up smoking mostly robustos, but I like anything under 50 ring too.
Prior to lighting I like the look of figurado's the best, that doesn't make me buy them though. |
Re: Favorite Vitola
My favorite is the corona followed closely by the perfecto. I tend to most enjoy skinny cigars.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I pretty much probally like Robustos best so far. I kinda tend to go for that larger ring gauges, but the Robusto is the best middle ground. I also tend to like just about anything box pressed too.
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
Don't have a favorite but if I had to pick I guess I prefer a lot of perfectos and lanceros
|
Re: Favorite Vitola
I mostly find myself smoking robustos, but lately I've been leaning towards corona gorda type cigars and lanceros. If I had a cigar specifically made for me it would be around 5.5x46.
At the moment I'd say 1) Lancero 2) Corona gorda 3) Robusto |
Re: Favorite Vitola
I like belicosos or torpedos, rg 52 or less.
I can clip the point for a lancero size hole, or larger, if desired. In general I like the 46-50 rg, except for some lanceros. I often smoke robustos, due to time constraints, though. Chemyst  |
Re: Favorite Vitola
Belicoso
I smoke both the JdN Dark Corojo Pelligroso (5 X 44) and the Poderoso (6 X 54), and the difference in flavor is considerable. The wrapper is Nicaraguan Corojo (Jalapa region), and although it dominates both vitolas, it comes as no surprise that it does so much more completely in the Peligroso. I can't vote for either as comparing them is like evaluating two different cigars. |
Re: Favorite Vitola
Corona and or Churchill, depending on how much time. both if the sky is the limit...;-)
