Box Pressed
So I had a Padron 1924 the other day that besides being a nice smoke was box pressed, and I really enjoyed the mouth feel of the stick. So does anyone have and rec's as to some other BP smokes that I should pick up and give a go? I know that the Torano 59 BP got high praise this year in Cigar Aficionado, anybody here have any thoughts?

La Flor Dominicana makes some tasty box-pressed smokes.

:r:r:r BTW - The Torano Exodus 1959 Gold that you mentioned, nice cigar. I've always described that cigar as "like smoking a dark chocolate candy bar" |
Re: Box Pressed
HdM Prensado Oscuro and the Anejo Shark are my 2 favorites. Both look dark, have a bit of sweetness, tons of flavor, and age well.

Re: Box Pressed
I agree with the Anejo Shark I was going to mention it but ummm I :al "forgot"
Great cigar. |
Re: Box Pressed
Torano Black 59, Murcialago, El Triunfador, La Riqueza, Oliva Series G, RP 90 and 92, CAO Brazila and/or Italia Box Press, Punch Rare Corojo, Casa Fernandez Arganorsa Leaf, Onyx, Sancho Panza and Padron Family Reserve 45 and 46 are some that I have enjoyed.

Re: Box Pressed
The Illusione Epernay Le Matin is another good box pressed cigar, and I'd recommend the 262 Paradigm Box Pressed Toro as well

Re: Box Pressed
Ok I gotta ask
I have never purchased box pressed cigars before honestly. Besides the obvious shape, is there any difference in the curing process or flavor of the box pressed versus non BP? |

One thing I have found is that box pressed cigars tend to be rolled a little looser -- which may affect the flavors (which is why I said no "direct difference" above). |

Re: Box Pressed
Add me to the fan list for the 262 Ideology - the construction on these is flawless, never had a bad stick - and there's a good bit of flavor for such a mild smoke.

Re: Box Pressed
CAO LX2 Bam. Small stick, but box-pressed and tasty.

Sancho Panza Double Maduro. A good, box-pressed maduro smoke and pretty cheap too.

"Hello, thank you for letting us know about the site. We’ve just recently had our site moved to a newer server and the hosting company wasn’t as thorough in their migration as they should have been, thus we’ve had some issues with the site. Everything has been resolved and all is working now." Mike was apologetic, thanked me for letting him know but the site does not work [for me]. Maybe I am doing someting wrong but I don't think so. I e-mailed Mike again about a week ago but have not receive any respose. I REALLY want to try some 262's! |
