Top Shot on the History Channel

Anyone else watching this series? I loved the first season, and this season looks like it might be equally spectacular. Definitely makes me want to go outside and set up some of the things they do!! :gn

Good stuff! :tu I loved the first season. I didn't watch it until last week when they had the marathon though. It really makes me want to go purchase a handgun though as I currently only own rifles. Of course this scares the sh!t out of my girlfriend because she is afraid of handguns lol.....So I guess I am picking one up soon :D. Anyways, it is a great show and I hope that they get it on netflix soon, though I haven't checked recently.

I love the show, it's at a bad time for me first run so I have to catch it in reruns, this season looks good in the commercials though!

Good show, not a big fan of the drama at the house. Lets pull the triggers and see who wins!!

Didn't realize season 2 had started already. I'll have to look for it, loved season 1.

Was talking to my son last night, he mentioned that aspect of the show and I said "They gotta throw something in there so women will watch"

I think this would be a win-win in my house:

Me = guns
My wife = Colby Donaldson

Guess it makes the DVR list :tu

I have watched it a few times but just have not developed an appreciation for it. Sort of tried to like it but just can't. But on the other hand I don't need more reasons to set up targets and blast away as it always feels good!

Haha So true! The drama does get ridiculous at times. As for the first competition; I feel like these guys should have known to stretch before the running. Two people are hurt now and they are using that as a major drama point on the second show. Jeez people, do a few toe touches or something. The second comp was pretty cool and I feel like it added a fair amount of adrenaline to the usual routine. Cant wait for next week.

I just stumbled across this show and caught the first episode of what is apparently the 2nd season. Had never heard of it before, but am digging it now. Missed last night's episode, but will be catching up soon.

As for "they added the drama for the women", not for this woman. Shut up and shoot, pansies!! :D

I also really like this show. I watched the first season and found it to be very addicting. Lot of cool weapons and very cool scenarios. I give it :tu :tu

Hope I am not seen as Thread Jacking just thought this show also fits many of us gun types: For those who also really dig off the wall cool weapons you might also check out Sons of Guns! Now that one has some wild stuff! Tonight @ 8:00 Central on Discovery Channel.

My fiancee loves Top Shot. She was the one who told me season two was starting. Anything to keep her interested in guns and shooting. Ive got her comfortable with a couple of the pistols now. Now I have to get her comfortable carrying one. I see a lot more military on the show this year.

Wow tonights elimination was very unexpected! I am not happy Jermaine got eliminated. I really don't like Jay's antics, and it is obvious that the blue team is about fed up with it. Next week should be fun...

yeah, i really wanted to see Jay leave. since day one when he figured he was team leader just because he 'picked' the team. ever since then he team member have wanted him gone, imo.

I agree and he said he just bought his first gone about a year ago and he is telling the other teammates how to shoot? He is a golf instructor that specializes in archery.... :tf

At least no one has complained that the angle of the pistol grip is all wrong this year.

Tonight's episode was pretty uneventful IMO. The challenge and elimination challenge were pretty basic but still decent to watch. The drama seems to have settled with Jay, but who knows, maybe next week will turn out an exciting show...especially with my favorite handgun! :banger

to me these shooters should be well rounded, he certainly isnt. sometimes i question why they picked some of these competitors.

I love this show. That was a sweet weapon for the elimination round. I watched the two guys practice with it, but I fell asleep just as they started the actual elimination and missed who got booted. Can anyone help?

Eric, the cowboy was booted

Eric, the cowboy from Florida was eliminated last night.

The Razorcat they shot in the elimination was awesome, but Jamie is staying in the house, so I guess there's going to be more drama to keep the wives and gfs watching...

Can't wait till the showdown between Brian "Gunny" Zins and George Reinas. They are on the same team now but Brian's will kick George's azz when and if they go head to head.

George's real name is Richard Noggin..

I would have to imagine one or two are thrown in the mix on the basis of charisma in their entry videos...I plink around in my backyard and the range and I understand grip techniques and angles and how your hands work with the .45, its amazing that he would not even consider the advice of the pros.

Next week should be great, its only getting better, and a lot of people struggle with tomahawks and proper technique...should be interesting :banger

+1 That guy really rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

Ditto. Jay needs to go. Maybe he's just playing the game and is smarter than we think. He seems to not do well in the team competitions, but then shines in the elimination rounds.

I had high hopes for Jermaine. I know I'm going to take some heat for this but I believe Jay is playing mind games and winning. I believe he will either win this or finish second..but thats just my thought.

Re: Top Shot on the History Channel

Season Two is definitely better done that Season One was. More shooting, less crud, better guns. I was rather put out by the poor performance of the US and World Handgun Champs. But it seems the less specialized shooters do a better job overall.

As a competitive shooter I find a lot of things about the show very annoying.... when the information is just wrong (Civil War Sharpshooters and then they bring out an 1874 Sharps - two decades later than the Civil War), the host and his grin and lousy script, etc. But as a vehicle to show shooting, the shooting sports, and firearms in general in a positive light to the average person, I think it does well.

Re: Top Shot on the History Channel

I agree, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of variety though, there are so many great weapons systems out there and they've used the 1911 more than once

I was thrilled to see Ashley go home. I liked him up until this last episode where he was being an a-hole towards Jamie, unprovoked, and calling him fake. Even Brian said that Jamie never claimed to be a SEAL, it was just from nicknames they gave each other. Then the icing on the cake was when he wouldn't shake Jamie's hand when he lost, grow up. I always thought he wasn't a very good shot anyways.

I would love to see George go home next, he is a true a$$. He is also so two faced it's painful. I see him joking with Jamie in one scene, and telling the interview camera "F*#@ You" towards Jamie the next.

Great season though. I'm pulling for Jamie now, he's definitely the underdog because of the bullseye on his back.

Dang....saw the spoiler alert and read it anyway. Still haven't watched my DVR of this episode yet, but I am shocked to hear that Ashley ended up being such a tool. George is a tool for sure, but I was actually hoping Ashley would end up winning.

Now I gotta watch this tonight!

(Btw, I'm not sure what qualified Colby to be a host, he was a Survivor loser from way way back. The one and only Survivor season I watched!)

After you watch how Ashley acted, I think you would have changed your opinion. I don't know what got into him. He used to be the cool guy, and just went with the flow. He did a 180 seems like.
