What a miserable 24 hours.
I joined this other forum. It's a big one.
Within one day, I ran screaming with my hair on fire and jumped off a cliff with a boulder in my hands.
The Bullies! Holy Cow! The know it all's! Holy Cow!
What was I thinking?
And on top of it, I think some of them are mentally challenged. Stupid.
CA is wonderful. I love you. I will not wander. I love you.
Is there some secret ad that only morons can see to lure them?

I'm not kidding. I had to take a pill. Otherwise, the cat would have born the brunt of my anger and I'd be eating cat chili right now.

Its amazing some people find a way to post hundreds of posts on multiple boards daily. I have nothing to do all day and still don't have the patience to post on mulitple boards, particularly ones with idiots. :tu

I was lucky enough to find this place in the beginning. I did join ICC right after Poof ruined CS. But it didnt feel like home.

I am a member of other forums, but they are football team related.

I have joined some others. Not all are bad, but none compare to this. Well organized and a true brotherhood. I don't post that often, nor am I as involved as many in here. But I love the fact that when I do post or contribute, the brotherhood response is always there. Some sites you post and get nothing. Too busy watching videos or advertisements on the site. LOL

I guess what really made up my mind to join here was the response to the (highly) misguided Cigar O'Byrnes (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=41373). He was given the benefit of the doubt that his intentions weren't pure evil. In all likelihood he was someone who thought he had a good idea, got very excited about it, but didn't think it through. Regardless of what his intentions were I thought the reaction on this site (vs. others) was indicative of what I was looking for:tu

Never heard of any such thing. Upon arriving at CA (the only cigar forum) I found no need to ponder the thought if there was another forum to talk about cigars.

Hmmm, I started there looking for a fun and friendly community, but was happy once I decided to leave...and this is why I joined CA! Great place to be a part of. :)

I agree with Taltos, they lurk in the background for the most part, but it's RULES and moderation
that keep THIS board sane. But to clarify, the reason the rules can be in the background is that in the main,
the people here are simply a better class of folks. And in addition to that, the same people who are jerks on
other boards watch their lip when they post here, or end up gone.

I really lucked out. When I finally figured out there were such a things as online cigar forums (silly me...don't know why it took me until 2010 to figure that out) I googled "cigar forum" and this was the first one that was listed.

I poked around for about two minutes, signed up and never looked back :)

I joined here almost a year ago and I read a lot, post very little, but love the site. I was at ICC and enjoyed that, but I love this site. I can't stand sites, cigar forums or others, where the members take great pride in berating and beating down other less "experienced" members. I have always felt welcome here and don't mind posting when I have something to share or questions to ask. Great place. Thanks. Steve

I'm sorry your flights of fantasy and illusions of grandeur didn't fly, but that's the risk you take when you post BS rather than facts. If I showed up in this forum and started in by telling you guys about the years I spent in the CIA doing wet work in South America, I'd expect to be questioned a bit as well. None of that should be a big surprise to me or any of you guys.

What you do here is your business. When it shows up in someone else's house, it becomes a different story.
