Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
Philly looked terrible on offense.

Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
Go Packers

Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
If they can stay away from the turnovers, you've got to like their chances.
Glad they finally got over the hump today! |

What a game! My heart was in my throat on the Eagles' last pass, and then when it got intercepted... well, you should have heard my fiancee and I yelling and shouting and cheering! :tu Go Pack Go next week in Atlanta!

Green Bay has a smoking team. Congrats to the team and the fans!
Also, anyone except the Giants, Redskins or Dallas. :D |

Rooting for the Pack to beat Atlanta, and the Bears to beat Seattle, so we can have an Epic NFC Champonship game.

it's nice to see the yellow and green back in the hunt

Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
The NFL would love a Packers vs. Patriots line up. Those are two of the main teams they huck worldwide to promote the NFL.

Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
The Pack certainly looks impressive. They have the most impressive core of wide receivers I can think of. Not to belabor the point, but if they can hang on to a few more of those balls that stick in their chest, they turn into a monster.
If Aaron Rodgers could possibly wrangle this Super Bowl away from the Steelers, which of course is impossible, the talking heads will speak of him in the same breath as Manning and Brady. If not next year, his time is definitely coming. I'd be willing to concede the Super Bowl if they'd give us Flynn and take the raper off our hands. :D |
Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
I'd like nothing more than to see a Packers-Patriots Superbowl matchup, but with Rodgers at the helm instead of Flynn and the Pat's often variable defense this year, I'd be holding my breath the entire game!

Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
Sadly I hate the Packers. I am a Bears fan now, always, and forever. Screw the Packers. I really hope that the Falcons roll over them. The sadder thing is that with how the playoffs have gone so far, I would not be surprised to see Seattle and Green Bay winning and playing for the NFC Championship. Of course the underdog, Seattle, would win to go on to play New England or the Jets in the Super Bowl. I say this cuz of how crazy it sounds now. BUT....Look at how the Saints got beat by Seattle. Look at how Green Bay beat the Eagles. It has been a very crazy season that has continued into the playoffs and we are all in for a big surprise this year.

Re: Packers Advance To Round Two
I was happy to see the Pack win on the road yesterday against the Eagles.
What was more impressive was seeing a blossoming running game coming around just when they need it. James Starks ran the ball 23x for 123 yds. If James Jones can hold onto the bomb in next game, then we'll be looking good:tu |

I think they have a good chance at it. Oh, by the way, I am not so sure that the Eagle offense sucked. I think that the Packer defense stepped it up and played a good game, big plays when needed. Go Pack! |

I will say this, I think it is going to be a good (tight) game for football fans, Packer fans - Falcons fans - fans of professional football in general. Peace of the Lord be with you. |

I guess I am not as disappointed with Hawk as you are. I was last year, but decided to go and take a look at the stats. If you look at his numbers and consider the impact he's had this year, I am thoroughly impressed. In this 2010 season he led the team in total tackles at (111), 3rd in solo tackles (72), .5 sacks, but had 3 interceptions. Those are respectale numbers. As I said, his performance last year left me a bit disappointed, but when I went to look up those stats, I was shocked, for I learned that in 2009 he was 2nd in total tackles (89) and 2nd in solo tackles (67), had 2 sacks, and 1 interception. Why was it such a bad year? Maybe the better question is, why did I think he'd had such a bad year? I figured I'd look up all his seasons and check out his stats. So, in 2008, he was 1st in total tackles (86) and 1st in solo tackles (67) and 3 sacks. In 2007 he was 2nd in total tackles (105) and 2nd in solo tackles (78) with 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception. In 2006. he was 1st in total tackes (120), 1st in solo tackles (83), had 3.5 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 interceptions. Seems to me that this 2010 season wasn't so bad, he never really had a great season in regard to sacks, 2010 was his best year for interceptions, and the number of tackles he had this year is a solid performance. He was made defensive team captain this season. I guess I'd like to know why he's such a disappointment. Peace of the Lord be with you. |

Remember Donnie Edwards? He was an inside linebacker for the Chiefs/Chargers. Dude always racked up tons of tackles every season. Thing is, he was always making them 5-10 yards downfield because he took horrible angles, and couldn't shed initial blocks. I see the same thing with AJ Hawk. Looks good on a stat sheet, looks terrible on the field. He doesn't meet the runner, he lets the runner come to him. He is big and athletic, which is frustrating because he has all the physical tools to be a pro bowler. The thing that gets me is that when he entered the draft, we were told how cerebral he was in addition to his physical stature. That's why the Packers took him with the #5 pick (I wanted them to take Haloti Ngata, but that's neither here nor there). Taking a player in the top five, you expect an impact player. Hawk is a JAG (just another guy); not an impact player. What he did this year I have no doubt that they would've gotten that from Chillar or Bishop, who wasn't taken in the top five (or the first three rounds for that matter). |
