What are your cigar habits?

I've been reading Love In the Time of Cholera and there was a passage:

She would open the door as her mother had raised her until she was seven years old: stark naked, with an organdy ribbon in her hair. She would not let him take another step until she had undressed him, because she thought it was bad luck to have a clothed man in the house. This was cause of constant discord with Capitan Rosendo de la Rosa, because he had the superstitious belief that smoking naked brought bad luck. and at times he preferred to put off love rather than put out his inevitable Cuban cigar.

Got me thinking, I'm not a very superstitious person, but I'm curious now; what other superstitions and traditions do we you guys follow?

Grab a folding chair, grab a drink, grab the radio, grab a book.

Go outside, set up the chair and radio.

Cut. light, smoke, sip, listen and read.

Only happens on my days off from work,
and during warm weather.

There's some line in here about aiming your ash with a rifle scope and still missing your Johnson, but I won't say it.

Cut. Light. Settle up with a good book, or in front of the game, and enjoy.

My cigar habit is after reading whatever Theology or Philosophy text I am studying, think about it for the duration of the smoke. Or just think about life in general when I am not studying. Also I have cigars or pipes alot during board game/war game sessions. Those are my general smoking rituals.

Re: What are your cigar habits?

Depends on the situation, but typically while I am at school I:
1. Rummage through my humi for a smoke and pick one
2. Grab a drink
3. Grab my book I need to study
4. Grab my laptop and head out to the mancave
5. Play some tunes
6. Cut and light my cigar
7. Enjoy while studying

While on break or cooking out, I repeat everything except the book for studying. :D

Damm Autocorrect But listening to it has gotten me into some interesting predicaments.

Re: What are your cigar habits?

Don't know that I would want to smoke while naked. I won't even shave my face naked since I had that near-miss when I dropped my double-edged. I guess sharp and burn now have the same potential consequences in my mind.

I always try to find the right drink to go with the right cigar. Usually water, iced tea, or coffee.

Re: What are your cigar habits?

I really enjoy just appreciating the construction of a cigar. The oils in the wrapper; the scent and aroma; the delicately designed labels (some are delicately simple); these all build to the smoke.

I usually toast the cigar from a good distance, as to build the smoke, rather than just blatantly lighting the foot on fire (like I see often in the store).

Once lit, let it marinate, than take the first initial puffs. Sit back...and...relax.
