Lawrence Welk...

Just before coming back outside to smoke, I was flipping through the cable channel guide to see what was on and I ran across "Lawrence Welk". Man did that take me back... Anybody else recall his signature "A one and a two"?

I had a baby sitter that loved Lawrence Welk, Dean Martin and "wrastlin'" as she called it.

Fortunately, within a click or two, I happened upon ****ey Betts & Great Southern on HDTV and got to hear them play "Ramblin' Man" and a few others.

It's because the younger generation has no appreciation for the real accomplishments of Richard Nixon.

Obtuse, I know, but funny if you get it.

(I thought about putting "serious" in the title, but that seemed even more obtuse - I hate magic words)

Can't believe their is a Lawrence Welk thread on here and I actually know what the thread is about....

Sunday nights, that was required watching. Man, that takes me back to times that were simpler.

The Lawrence Welk show was just about required watching in my family. Not sure why, my folks didn't seem to always listen to that style of music. That and The Carol Burnett show were two that my folks never missed.

I actually liked Carol Burnett! And remember Red Skelton too!

Speaking of Red... I really like this...

http://www.poofcat.com/july.html takes a bit to load, but for me, it states the true meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Lawrence Welk comes on every Saturday on PBS down here in NC. I'm not desparate enough to actually watch it. I do love me some Hee-Haw, but Lawrence Welk is just too much:al:al. My dad loves The Lawrence Welk Show.

I liked Cesar Romero. The Joker in the old Batman series (even if he refused to shave that mostache and put makeup on over it) and loved him on The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour too.
