Aristocrat Mini Tall
 

About to pull the trigger on an Aristocrat Mini Tall. This size will work very well for me in the future giving me plenty of room to grow my collection.

What I'm leaning towards now:
-Dark red mahogany
-Glass door
-Replace singles shelf with full extension shelf for boxes, giving me two full extension shelves
-No humidification, will use beads for this size

Debating on adding the base molding for another $100.

For those that own the mini or mini tall, is there any advice you can give, things you like I'm not considering or things you would do again?

Here's a pic of my mini tall I had Bob build a year ago, my only regret is I wished I had gone bigger! Other than that I love it!!!

I have the mini tall in the black lacquer just like the one on Bobs site. I love the two full extension shelves, I use 2 trays that stack well for the singles. I think I have 1 1/2lbs of Scotts (shilala) beads and 1 oust fan. Yep, it's overkill with the beads :D

- I have seen one in the dark red mahogany, it looks fantastic.
- Glass or no glass.... good luck with that decision
- You can't go wrong with the extension shelves
- Beads are good

Base molding... with some of those other options and the molding you might look at the end table cabinet

Base molding was the only option that cost (well, I suppose the Tall cost too).

I ended up placing the order, added the curved base molding and went with glass door. Now for the wait...

I can understand why you'd drop off after mini-Gerry came on board :r

The whole ordering thing is complicated since you can't take a look at things in person. I think that yours will be a stellar setup. Are you going for clear glass or frosted or etched or ... ?

Clear glass. I can't help from always looking at my cigars, at least this keeps the humidity in. ;)

we actually talked about yours, he was very proud of it.

I can see that. Clear glass will definitely help with keeping the humidity in, but will it help you from smoking them too fast? :D

I can't wait for it to be delivered on Monday. I don't think that I'll get any work done on Monday afternoon.

False alarm. It got here today but turned out to be a regular Mini instead of the Mini Tall like ordered. Talked with Bob and hoping my new one will be here next week.

he shipped you the wrong humidor? these are custom made to order did he also build the wrong humidor?

if so thats a huge mistake.

Yeah. But, they're really not. He has a few of the popular ones like Mini and Mini tall ready to be customized (door, shelves, etc). He forgot to write Tall on the work order. He told me he had a Tall in the color I wanted when I called with the problem, just needed to add the shelves and molding.

Through some boxes in for a few minutes to see how that fit and snap a pic. Should work nicely, 4 PC dress boxes, PC cab, HdM Epi 1 SLB and Trini Reyes.
