How about a CA party barge?

1 Attachment(s)
Current bid is 150.00. I think this yacht might go cheap. Think of the possibilities. Park it in Lake Michigan for a community smoking parlor. Okay, it's a fixer upper and with no motor and it might be tough getting it here, but that's a small work around.:)

Be an awfully long tow from Hiroshima Bay to the Great Lakes....

Still...that would make a heck of a floating party barge!!:banger

Can you imagine??!! I do wonder if the authorities would not allow smoking for some reason. Last time I looked the winning bid was $150!

For some reason this makes me keep thinking of Gen. Billy Mitchell. We should moor that POS somewhere, then bomb it until it sinks. :r

Hey, there's your name for you . . . The S. S. POS!

Re: How about a CA party barge?

It's a barge, which means it doesn't have an engine, which means it isn't an "S.S." (steam ship). It would likely have berthing, a galley and mess decks with some random work spaces. I wouldn't want to keep it on open water as they're usually flat keeled and unstable in choppy seas. I can imagine it would make a great party venue, though.

I have a little experience with them from my time in the Navy. They would make a good party barge. They're sturdy, simply built and easy to maintain, relatively.

I'll throw in 10 bucks! ALL HANDS ON THE POOP DECK! how about S.S. dog rocket? Who gets to be the skipper? Seeing as it has no motor i don't think any boating experience what so ever would be required.

Not totally accurate. Sill have to have firefighting, SOLAS, and vessel operation experience. Just no navigational experience necessary.

Ladies, no.... but there are always women willing to hang out for free booze. And admit it, you'd rather invite them anyway. ;)

We have 4,358 members. $150,000 to buy it and another $400,000 to make her sparkle and put a motor in and stock her with cigars. So if each member pitches in $127 the SS. Floating Herf can set sail! :salute:

Heck, if the anti smoking laws continue apace, it may be that a private boat will soon be the only place left to smoke. And considering it has no engine, we can't accidentally blow it up. :D
