NBA Finals
Any predictions?
Being from Orlando, I like the Magic's chances. More so this year than last with Jameer Nelson back in full form. I think it will be Magic/Cavs in the Eastern Finals. |
Re: NBA Finals
Lakers take Cleveland in six.

Re: NBA Finals
I am going with Magic as well. And not just because I am in FL.
I also don't think it will be the Lakers in the final game either. They are getting beat up pretty bad right now and if the Suns remain on their streak, they might be the team to face in the West. Although, the Spurs ARE a well oiled playoff machine and capable of rolling through. |
Re: NBA Finals
Magic sure made a statement in round 2 opener.
They look tough. |

Okay, back on track... Gotta say Lakers are my favorite to win, I haven't seen them this strong since they had Shaq back in 04. I just think they have too much arsenal on that team. Have to give love to Orlando as well. They are the only undefeated team in the playoffs. Dwight looks like he was playing against little kids the other night. Only problem I see with that team is how are they going to match up against Lakers when Dwight get's in foul trouble? I'm not worried about their offense whatsoever. Can't leave Cleveland out. If anything, this is their year to win. I have high hopes for that team. I would love to see 'Bron win one for that city. I have been a fan of that man since he was in high school. Bringing in Shaq, Jamison and getting Big Z back was a huge thing for that team. Last year they had to rely on Mo Williams for 2nd scoring, didn't work out so well. So my magic 8 ball says.... Lakers, Cleveland in finals. |
Re: NBA Finals
Lakers/Cavs
I like the Magic's chances but it's so hard to bet against Lebron. |
Re: NBA Finals
I wouldn't totally discount Boston.
Cleveland isn't having a cake walk against them. Still, I'm sticking with the Magic. |
Re: NBA Finals
OK, so I held out till later today. When are the Magic going to get the credit they deserve?? They beat Celtics and Cavs last year, are dominating the playoffs this year and still no love. I love the underdog as much as the next guy, but sometimes give credit where credit is due.
|
Re: NBA Finals
Hopefully everybody will keep focusing on Lebron and Shaq and the Magic can stay off the radar right into the finals.
I think it's gonna rain 3's on Cleveland as the paint will be mighty crowded. |

But look who they have played.... Charlotte and now Atl (which held their own last night) and yes they did beat Boston and Cleveland last year but each year is different. This years Cleveland team is not the same as last year. They are much tougher and much deeper this year. As for Boston, I think they lost a bit of that spark they had last year. Now, I'm not trying to say they don't deserve any credit, hell, I don't think they are underdogs whatsoever. I just don't think the competition they have faced so far in this playoff have been challenging. |

Re: NBA Finals
Looking more and more like Magic/Cavs for the Eastern Finals.
I won't mind seeing the Magic get challenged for a change. They haven't lost a game since April 2nd. Cleveland will be able to give the Magic plenty of trouble. I'll definitely get tickets if and when this comes to Orlando. |
Re: NBA Finals
Lakers got a terrible no call on the in bound pass then got lucky Utah didn't tip in that basket.
Lakers are winning the Championship. Too much talent. Oh and have you heard of Kobe? |
Re: NBA Finals
I totally did not expect Suns to sweep. But I did say earlier watch out for them. I don't know who they have that can stack up against Gasol or Bynum, but it will be interesting to say the least. The first couple of games will tell a lot.
The Magic are incredible right now in the East. And the Cavs might go to a game 7 with Boston, which would help out the Magic if either team wins, given the speed at which these games are scheduled. It's turning out to be an exciting Finals year. |
Re: NBA Finals
I'd say it's a given that the Lakers are going, but the East is still up in the air.
I'm thinking the Cavs will end up winning in 7 then playing a well rested Orlando team. The Magic are a great road team, so I don't think the Cavs have a home court advantage to a great extent. Ever since Grant Hill left and freed up some of his wasted salary, it's been fun to live in Orlando and be a Magic fan again. Dwight will have all kinds of foul trouble with Shaq down low and Gortat may see a lot of playing time. The Magic set a record for 3 point shooting this year and I am nearly certain it will decide their fate as well as Lebron's right elbow. It's now or never for Cleveland, and I hope it's never and we see Lebron in a Knicks jersey next year. I know all about Kobe, and saw how he took over the finals last year and nobody will stop him from scoring 40 something points a game. |
Re: NBA Finals
Both conference finals will be a treat for true basketball fans.. PHX/LA will be a good matchup. and either the celts or the cavs will be a good matchup for orlando.. I am a celts fan, but id like to see lebron get a ring so he can stop hearing flack

Re: NBA Finals
Wow, last night's Celtic win was amazing. The Cavs looked like they were standing still.
And to all those who have a doubt whether or not ESPN is biased totowards LeBron, needs only to look at the top 3 plays of last night on ESPN. 1. Lebron assist to Shaq for a dunk 2. Lebron fastbreak for a dunk 3. Rondo's juking Mo for a shot That is ridonkulous. Any team who loses by 32 doesn't deserve ANY top plays. Much less 2 of the 3. Next they will be showing Lebron at home for the Eastern Conference's top plays. |
Re: NBA Finals
The Cavs / Celtics series is over.
Like many, I got caught up in the hype I guess. I should have known after last season, they are not a deep team. If their hero doesn't play well, they lose. That doesn't work well late May in the NBA. Oh well, bring on the Celtics and let the summer of Lebron begin. |
Re: NBA Finals
UH-OH!! :r
Seems like the King has been de-throned for yet another year! I was a little hesitant going into last nights game. But after I saw the way that the refs were going to let people play, and how the Celtics were playing, I knew by the end of the first quarter, Cavs were done. So now the talk will surely be James's elbow and where he will go next year. Which is a shame because the talk SHOULD be about the Celtic vs Magic series. Which brings me to my point. I think the Celtics are going to be tough for the Magic to beat. Both are matched up well. However, the Celtics are an older team, and not quite as deep as the Magic, which I think will have a major impact on the series. |
Re: NBA Finals
Magic in 6. Even in a shootout I don't think the C's have enough fire power to match up to the Magic. This will the Magic's first test in the playoffs.
|
Re: NBA Finals
Lebron came unglued and it will be intersting to see how he rebounds.
The only one that showed heart on Cleveland was Verajao. I also say Magic in 6. Jameer Nelson will give Rondo fits and will be all over him. And those easy drives up the middle that Boston enjoyed agoinst Cleveland; not this round. |

I have a lot of respect for Doc Rivers but will also love to see his old team beat him.
Can't wait til Sunday. Yes, this will be a test for the Magic, but what the heck was Atlanta? Chopped liver? |

I am tired of hearing this talk about Magic not playing any hard competition so far. If you look at it, the Hawk's actually finished ABOVE the Celtics this year in the regular season. Just because Magic had an easy time with them, doesn't mean they weren't a great team. Just means, the Magic are that much better. |

Re: NBA Finals
I cant believe that the Cavs just gave up like that. LBJ is staying in Cleveland, I mean, they can offer him the most money, and he just built that house, his roots and all that ****. Oh well. I want the Magic to sweep the Lakers!!

Re: NBA Finals
deja Vu. Magic fighting back from a 20 something point defecit in the Finals against Boston. Lost this one though.
Same exact thing last year, so this should be exciting. Boston looks tough. |
Re: NBA Finals
I couldn't believe the debacle the Magic put up the other night. It looked as if they weren't trying for the first 3 quarters. When I saw KG out run everyone down the court, TWICE, in the first quarter, I knew it was going to be a long night.
The Suns vs Lakers showed what no defense will bring. I don't think Lakers will be able to go another 3+ games running like that. Where as that is the Suns entire game. Tonight should be interesting. If the Magic come out to play, it will be a different ball game all together. |
Re: NBA Finals
Celts in 7.. And the Celts can beat the Lakers (and will :) )
and the Atlanta Hawks blow.. |
Re: NBA Finals
GO CELTICS!!
CELTS in 5 |
Re: NBA Finals
Seriously, who the hell would have thought Boston would be up 2-0 in this serious, other than the Boston fans. The Celtics are on top of their game, they no longer depend on the big 3, they have Rondo, who has been just amazing on the court.
It's going to be very very tough for Orlando to win this serious, almost impossible. |
Re: NBA Finals
I know one thing... Kobe is soooo good.
Magic series is insane. I can't believe the Celtics are up. I didn't think this would happen. Then again Rasheed Wallace has awoken from a season long slumber to play some great minutes. Along with the all of the Celtics bigs doing a great job. Can the real Rashard Lewis please stand up? |
Re: NBA Finals
Can the real Vince Carter step up and make some damn free throws and be the clutch player that they brought him in for?
|

Carter is still a very good player, a player anyone would love to have on their roster. It's a toss up between them the two tbh. One another not.... it's going to be a good game tonight! I hope the Suns can tie it up. |
Re: NBA Finals
This just in: Rajon Rondo is really good.

On another note, when are Bass and Anderson going to get quality minutes? I mean what the heck is Van Gundy thinking? PLAY THEM!! What else do you have to lose? |
Re: NBA Finals
Magic are too streaky and Vince Carter went to the Nick Anderson school of shooting clutch free throws.
Magic will be lucky to not be swept in this series |
