Masters 2010
Who's Going To Win? Does Tiger Have A Chance? What Say You?:)
My Pick For This Year Is Ernie Els, With Jim Furyk & Phil Mickelson Also Possible Winners! Bring It On, Golfaholics!:banger |
Re: Masters 2010
If I watch golf, it is only on Sundays when NASCAR is over. I only watch when Tiger plays, so I am rooting for Tiger.

Re: Masters 2010
Rooting for Tiger as well. :tu

Re: Masters 2010
Can someone tell me how many innings there are in golf?

I feel Tiger will do well, but I don't expect him to win.

Re: Masters 2010
I'm surprised at the lack of practice round coverage
|
Re: Masters 2010
I would like to see Ernie Els, Jim Furyk or Anthony Kim win it. I would also like to see Tiger wearing a pair of John Daly's golf pants. :banger

Re: Masters 2010
I would love to see The Big Easy win. Tiger can pound sand for all I care.

Re: Masters 2010
I like Phil, I just don't like his chances. He's shown little or nothing so far this year. Any good rounds that he's had have come after he's out of contention.
Anthony Kim doesn't have a chance if he plans on hitting it like he did last week enroute to his win. Augusta is a lot tighter and penal than Houston was. I'd like to think Ernie has a good shot. Last week he didn't do much, but 2 out of the last three wins bodes well for him. But, if I had to wager, I'd have to go with Tiger. Let's face it, he's beat a lot of these guys in the past few years on a pretty beat up body. I'm not sure I buy into the emotional baggage weighing him down. It's been my experience on the golf course that all those things disappear for those few hours spent on the course. If Tiger has even 2/3 of his normal game, nobody beats him. :2 |
Re: Masters 2010
How cool is this first day leaderboard!!!!
Are you kidding...Couples, Watson, Lyle....:banger |
Re: Masters 2010
Couples, Watson, Lyle?
Where's Chi Chi or Trevino? :D |
Re: Masters 2010
I don't follow or watch golf. However, when the off the course antics make the news, I tune in :D
The fly-over airplane messages were HILARIOUS! |
Re: Masters 2010
I would rather eat my own toenails than watch Golf.

I used to find golf about as exciting as watching paint dry. Then I got into the game, and now I can appreciate the skill and stategy that goes into it. Plus, there's no guaranteed money (sponsorships notwithstanding). If you go out and stink up the course, you go home early. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Masters 2010
Tiger's best opening round in the Masters :)

Re: Masters 2010
And now the other part of Tiger's game comes into play - intimidation. Except for a select few (and you can count the number of them on one hand), the rest of the field is thinking "after all the crap that has happened, and being off for five months, and three bogies today, he's only 2 strokes back - crap".

Re: Masters 2010
Today it looks like the course has awakened. So far not much movement except for higher scores. Staying at par seems to be a victory. I am still cheering for Tiger since I go by Barkley's comment years ago that he is an athlete and not a role model. I want Tiger just to see that a*hole chairman who called him out in public for being a poor role model have to give him the trophy. Otherwise I could easily live with either Watson or Couples hanging in there.

Re: Masters 2010
Last night when I could not sleep, I turned on highlights from the Masters. I went to sleep like a baby after warm milk. :D

Re: Masters 2010
Everyone deserves a second chance, even for what Tiger did. If he truly has changed, and learned from what happened, he could go on to be even bigger than before.
I will give him a chance in that respect, but when it comes to winning tournaments, I always wait til after the cut and root for underdogs. Unfortunately for Tiger, he is rarely an underdog so he doesn't get my support! I thought it was great that Couples and Watson were so far up on the leaderboard. Right about now, I am rooting for Heath Slocum to keep up his amazing start to the 3rd round. |
Re: Masters 2010
Being a San Diego native I'm excited to see Phil playing well,,,2 eagles and nearly making a third one in a row. Can you spell HOT?

Re: Masters 2010
Like I said don't kid yourself:
Just 20 years ago, Curtis Strange became the first golfer to win $1 million in a season. In 2007, 158 players passed that milestone: 99 on the PGA Tour, 15 on the Champions Tour, seven LPGA Tour players and 37 from assorted tours Read More http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/2...#ixzz0kkfAeD5y In 2007 Jeff Overton was #99 on the tour and made over $1 million. Number 20 made $9.1 million and number 50 made $2.7 million Who knows what Ricky Barnes makes he is barely good enough to stay on the tour and does not regularly even make the cut. |

And a nice birdie putt by Freddie to move within 2. The crowd's really behind him. :tu

Watch for Mahan to shoot a low score today.

Re: Masters 2010
I think Tiger's done. He just airmailed the green on a short pitch. Choi, OTOH, is looking pretty solid.
Bad break for Phil, a leaf or something landed right in the line of his birdie putt right as he made his stroke. Posted via Mobile Device |
