Going to Nicaragua!!!
 

Today I won a trip from Tampa Humidor to go to Nicaragua all expenses paid! We will be touring the My Father factory and meeting Don Pepin Garcia!!! :banger

This is going to be a blast! I leave the 14th and return on the 17th. It will be my first trip out of the US (other than a trip to the Bahamas but I didn't even need a passport for that one).

I'm extremely excited and had to share it with my BOTL/SOTLs here on Cigar Asylum. I will take a bunch of pictures and write up a nice long review of the trip.

I had better start brushing up on my Spanish. :D

Spent a week traveling through Nicaragua earlier this year....incredible place! The sights are great and the towns are easy to get around in, not to mention friendly locals.

I just can't believe I get to meet the man in person in his factory! Around 80% of my humidor is stocked with his work. 601 blue and green, Petite Tatuajes, Black Labels and SW Maduros, JJ series, El Rey de los Habanos, Ambos Mundos, San Cristobals, My Fathers and Blue Labels.

My passport arrived today so I am good to go...

I do speak a bit of Spanish. I am Puerto Rican and my mother speaks it all of the time so I understand it very well, I'm just not the best at speaking it.

Just remember that when you jump in a taxi in Esteli, it is considered public transport. The driver will pick up 5 other people going in your general direction and drop them off along the way. It should only cost 50 US cents for the cab.
Also enjoy the local Nica heavy metal bar downtown, The Titanic (not the Titanic fish restaurant on the Pan American). The are amused by the rare Gringo and sell liters of beer for $1.50.

It looks like the trip has been delayed to May 4th so that Nestor Miranda can accompany us.

It's not a huge problem but I do have to take an extra day off of work and cancel my time off for next week...

I was really looking forward to leaving next Wednesday. :(

Awesome, congrats to both of you guys!

I just got back from Esteli a couple weeks ago being hosted by Pete Johnson and the Garcia family and you will definitely enjoy the My Father factory! The entire Garcia family are great people and treated my group like we were part of the family, very nice people!
