Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
Do the Stinky Ashtrays come with a base or do you have to buy that separately? Every picture I've seen has a base. I've been wanting to buy one but one website sells a separate base for 75 bucks! The ashtray is only 25. Thanks.

Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
Are you talking about the floor stand ?

I believe the base (floor stand) is for the herf-sized (huge) model only. All the smaller ones have the base attached. |
Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
They come with a base suitable for sitting on a table. That separate base that you have seen makes the table top ashtray into a floor stand ashtray.:tu

Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
a little extremely simple logic applying Stinky and ashtray and adding a dot com on the end provided me with the following result.
http://www.stinkyashtray.com/ I know a lot of guys have them, and with the history of stirrups snapping off when knocked over and the addition of me being clumsy, I would be in trouble with one on a stand, and the apparatus able to clonk into the floor from a couple feet up. With careful use, and no excited dogs running about underfoot, I imagine either option would be acceptable. They are nice and deep, and for outdoor use, would be good for not having ash fly out with a slightly stronger breeze. |
Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
Thanks for the help everyone. I don't want the floor stand just the base. Glad they come with one.

Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays

Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
Thanks to CasaDooley for the great photos!
This is a (hand-painted) Stinky Cigar Floor Stand . . . . . . with an original 3-stirrup Stinky Cigar Ashtray in place: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...KDpics0004.jpg This is a Herf Edition: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...KDpics0006.jpg This is a regular Stinky Cigar Ashtray with 4-stirrups: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...KDpics0006.jpg This is a Stinky Cigar Floor Ashtray: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/pictur...459797&thumb=1 The Handle in this photo is a new optional accessory. Hope this clears up your question about a "base" on the product. The regular Stinky Cigar Ashtray has a "base" welded to the bottom of the bowl. (manufacturing term: base-cup) The Floor Ashtray has one part at the bottom that we call the "base" and it bolts on to the part we call the "Post" which also bolts on to the "bowl" which is specifically manufactured to be bolted to the top of the post. |
Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
I have one of each...the small bowl with the cool floor stand (you have to see it in person to appreciate how cool it is), a floor ashtray, and a herf addition....best 3 ashtrays I have ever owned. :tu

Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
When the stirrups break off what are you guys using to reattach them? I don't weld so I was thinking JB Weld- the duct tape of the adhesive world. Any suggestions?

I leave mine in the cold garage. When the wife went to move it she grabbed it by the stirrup and it came off in her hand. I just let it warm up inside the house for a while and used plain old Krazy Glue to make the repair and it worked like a charm. |

He did not have to do this. And he was very kind and pleasant to talk with. I couldn't beleive it. All I had to do is take a few pics of it broken and send mine back. The extended warranty he provides just goes to show how great of a cigar accessory this is. I wouldn't be caught without a Stinky. Thanks so much for being a great BOTL. |
Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
When I first started producing the Stinky Cigar Ashtray, I didn't realize the manufacture would change the specifications and "cheapen" the solder joint on the stirrups. . . long story.
My opinion: ;s They should not break off! . . . even if you drop it! So, I decided to offer an extended warranty. (I need to get that posted on my web site!) The extended warranty will require a $10.50 fee to cover shipping & handling. . . but, I wave that fee for nice guys . . . like the inmates here! :D |
Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
Any ETA on when you might release those beautiful one piece versions you have in your picture album?

Re: Question about the Stinky Ashtrays
Im smoking a Partagas Short and using a stinky right now as we talk. I havent had problems with the stirrups but at my local B&M all the stirrups are buggered - probably due to disrespectful patrons. I love my stinky though. I didnt know I could get an extended warrenty! I would have taken one out for sure as they cost alot here in australia.
