When buying online and using PP

Don't EVER put cigars anywhere in the message area when using PP! My account is frozen for 3 days because I violated the terms of use policy. It's a simple mistake, but please don't do this to another member. I was on the phone with PP for 30 minutes trying to get this cleared up. Apparently, this isn't the first time someone has done this to me and this time I got burned for 3 days.

It is kind of amazing that this is against their terms of service yet every big dealer I deal with uses it.

So how does Famous get around this with PP since they accept PP as a form of payment?

Famous, JR and CI all take PP.

I guess they must sell a lot of swiss chocolates and humidors.

Famous has a separate agreement with PP, I believe the site verification of DoB is satisfactory for PP. I think there are a few other online retailers who have met this criteria to PP's satisfaction.

Which is exactly why they cant risk the wrath of the state's Attorney's General for selling tobacco to someone underage.

Re: When buying online and using PP

PPal is by far the worst online payment source. I prefer using Google Checkout, as they don't care about anything and they are quite speedy. However, next time, do not say you are buying cigars. It is common sense, but everyone makes mistakes.

Re: When buying online and using PP

I'm very careful to let anyone know not to mention cigars or anything about tobacco if it's not someone I know who already knows better.
It's better to be safe than sorry. Not once has one of the brothers ever so much made a mention of anything remotely related to tobacco. :tu

Re: When buying online and using PP

The first transaction I made here on CA, I had to inquire about "decrete PP" because I didn't know that either. I'm glad I asked because I probably would have done the same thing.

I haven't signed up yet, but I heard GUNPAL is a good online site.

What kind of fees does Google Checkout charge?

Re: When buying online and using PP

I lost my PP acount permanently for accepting 1 pmt back in 2006. They have eyes everywhere. If you like your PP account, you will either refrain from using it for cigar and tobacco purchases, or you'll make a mistake and it'll be gone for good.

I think the main benefit comes from when you're buying from fellow members and they don't have the ability to take a credit card via a website. Using discrete PP, you can send money via bank account, debit card, or credit card to pretty much anyone.

Re: When buying online and using PP

I've been using it for years, bought all of the forbidden items and lots of them. You gotta use a little sense. On the other hand, I absolutely hate to run out and buy a money order.

That's just me though.
