Wow!!! Why didn't I think of starting a SN lovers Thread??? Recently I bought a growler at the brewery and I have been enjoying new offerings from the brewery every couple of weeks!!! The Brewery is my second home!!! My wife and I were even married there!!! As Bob mentioned we do a couple of Herfs each year in Chico and have lunch at the brewery!!! BTW - The new Bigfoot is out right now!!!:tu http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/pictur...pictureid=3477 |
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
I love em all! Anniversary, chico harvest, porter, stout, pale ale, barley wine, kellerweis. I do need to try the rest
|
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
Estate, but it's like $10-13 for a bomber (22oz), so most of the time I'll go for the "regular" Pale Ale, although the Celebration 2009 really impressed me.
|
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
I forgot the Celebration Ale! Always look forward to that too.

Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
In my refrigerator right now:
Harvest Ales: Southern Hemisphere, Chico Estate, and Dry Hops Pale Ale Celebration Stout Anniversary Kellerweis Pale Bock Summerfest Glissade Bigfoot 2008, 2009, 2010 Look for the new 30th Anniversary soon!!! We got to sample this one at the last Sierra Nevada Herf!!!:dr Sign up for new updates here: http://www.sierranevada.com/ |
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
I do like SN.
My Favorite is the Celebration 2009 first time I ever had it was this year man is that stuff Tasty :dr:dr:dr |
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
Big SN fan here, too, just happen to be on the wrong coast... :(
My top 3 would have to be Bigfoot, Torpedo, and the regular ol' fashion Pale Ale. |
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
I love Celebration, but as it's only available seasonally, and loses it's "zip" when aged, I only buy it prior to the Holidays. Year-round, Torpedo is da' bomb.
Ha! Torpedo is da' bomb. I kill me. :r . |

Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
The 2009 Bigfoot Ale is very good in my opinion. Can't get enough of it.
|
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
I love SN beers. My favorite is the Celebration, followed by Torpedo. Usually I will have summerfest in the fridge during the correct time of the year.
|
Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
I bought a 6'er of 2010 Bigfoot the other day. Super now, and should be stellar with some age on it.

Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
What does everyone think about the Wet Hop Ale? I love the stuff!

Re: Sierra Nevada lovers
Im not sure actually. This beer uses hops that are used in the brewing process the same day they are picked

I didn't find it all that different than some of their other beers, in other words, I can't tell what using wet hops did for it. Could also be that since smoking lots of cigars and drinking hoppy beer together don't tend to lend themselves well to accurate taste testing. And it looks like I was mistaken - only certain harvest ales are wet hopped. |
