Pink Floyd reunion
there are credible rumors that the remaining members, including Roger Waters and David Gilmore have been in the studio rehearsing for a 2010 reunion possibly, against all odds. Stay tuned.

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I can't wait to hear more on this.

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
Apparantly the ball is in Gimore's court and Roger is willing.
The passing of Rick Wright may play a part as he was understandably very mad at Roger, as Roger tried to kick him out of the band. I have heard that venues have already been contacted checking available dates for large stadiums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3FL0Tezc6A |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
A herf (the legal kind) at one of the venues may be in order!!

In the lyrics to "Manana" Jimmy Buffett wrote "Don't try to describe a Kiss concert if you've never seen it" The same can be said for Pink Floyd. It's a spectacle you have to experience to understand. By all means, if this tour happens, go. I know I'll be there again. |

I like that concert from Gdansk that Gilmour came out with recently. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
Saw the Lapse tour, and the "Pulse" tour as well. Have seen Roger Waters live, and thought that was fantastic. Now if the two of them toured, and I could get tickets, I could die happy.

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
Wow, Rogers and Gilmour reconciling..... I would agree, seems against all odds. Never had a chance to see them in concert and would love to. Same as seeing TSO (Trans Siberian Orchastra) live. Worrds cannot describe the sight and sound for their show.

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I've seen Gilmore and Pink Floyd. David Gilmore is great solo. I don't know if P.F. would come up with anything new but we'll see.

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
Pink Floyd is great, but never seeing them live is like only having watched fireworks on television. The feel, power, thunder and visual has to be seen and felt in person. One of the best outdoor stadium acts ever....just hope is doesn't rain.

Hasn't this been a rumor before, actually many times before?

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
This would be an amazing turn of events on the Gilmore side since last year after Live 8 he said that it was a once time only thing and he would never tour with Waters.
I hope they do find an even ground and get back on tour. I would love to see them in concert. |

Lest we not forget that it took Thunderfingers's death for Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry to remember what they once had and become friends again (mind, they never really liked each other to begin with). It's unfortunate that if it took Rick Wright's death to get Waters and Gilmour to allegedly put their egos aside, but dammit, I'm still buying tickets if it happens. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I might have to sell a kidney and part of my liver to afford it. :r

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
If this happens, it might mean that I will die soon after. Seeing PF is one of the last things on my bucket list. I kind of thought I was safe because they would never tour again... especially after the comments made in '05. But I will take off, work, mortage the house, do whatever it takes to get to the concert. Let's hope they pull it off!

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I was blessed to have a very cool dad who took me to see Kiss Alive in Madison Square Garden in 1976 and then Pink Floyd on the Animals tour shortly after that. At the time Kiss was my favorite and I knew little of Pink Floyd but was changed at an early age after that.
Returning to MSG a few years ago to see Roger perform Dark Side of The Moon it was clear, to me at least, that Pink Floyd without Roger isn't Pink Floyd, but Roger can recreate all the riffs and atmosphere of a Pink Floyd show pretty well without Gilmore. I normally don't believe rumors, but this came from a friend in Connecticut that makes my ears perk up when he says something like this. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I seen Roger Waters in MSG around 10 years ago and it was incredible. I can only imagine what they will sound like reunited. This is one I'll be watching....
|
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I will definitely be watching. I'm all over this one, don't care if the tickets are $40 or $400, I'll be there.

I'd agree with that. Pink Floyd - The Division Bell (AKA "P.U.L.S.E.") - 1994 Roger Waters - In The Flesh - 2000 Musically, In The Flesh was a much better show, and Division Bell was no slouch. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I was lucky enough to catch Roger Waters on the Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking tour with Eric Clapton on lead guitar. The name David Gilmore never entered our minds.
It was Roger's first solo project and took all the weirdness from Final Cut and expanded on it. I sat in the 4th row of Radio City Music Hall and nobody moved from there seat for 2 hours, which would normally be a bad thing, but we were all too tripped out. Kinda ironic that the reuinion seems to be Gilmore's decision when he never would have been in the band if Sid Barret didn't reach for the secret too soon and cry for the moon. Roger wanted full control of the music, which might not have been a bad thing, in my mind, based on what the band did after he left. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I heard an episode of "In The Studio" this morning on the radio on my way into work. I am not sure how old it was, but it was made since the Live 8 event because Gilmour talked about it. Based on what he said in this interview, and the things Roger has been saying for 20 years, a lot of which they replayed this morning too, I just can't see them ever reconciling. I sure hope I am wrong, though.

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
I saw "Which one's pink?" on VH1 classic last night, and when asked about a reunion, Gilmore said "It's not going to happen."
I have to say that i would love to see a reunion. Animals is my favorite Floyd album. I was too young to see them live on that tour, and I would love to see them perform at least a few sonds from it live. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
My favorite PF album is Ummagumma, followed by Animals. I think The Wall mostly sucked. I saw them live (twice) for Momentary Lapse and thought that a great concert but I can't even remember Division Bell.
I think seeing them now would be almost like watching a cover band with a lot of money for the production. I would not go see it only because I've seen them before. |
Re: Pink Floyd reunion
looks like I wasn't nuts after all... hope it's the Tampa show

Re: Pink Floyd reunion
So from what I can tell this is not really a reunion but a guest performance on 1 song at 1 concert. Hopefully it is the start of a true reunion.
