The confessional...
I'm a huge DPG fan...but I've never had a Tatuaje. ;s
I think most anything I've had that's a maduro is ".. meh".:td What do you have to confess to? |

I'm also not a big fan of maduros
I can smoke them on some days, but most of the time I prefer something more spicy and not chocolaty. |

Re: The confessional...
A DPG blue almost kicked my butt.
A DPG black DID kick my butt. I haven't worked up the nerve to smoke a JDN yet. And this one time, at band camp ..... :D |
Re: The confessional...
I once bought a 5'er of Cremosas off another member here. Don't punish yourself, they taste horrible :pu
|
Re: The confessional...
I enjoy most Reyes Family cigars, including the premier, vintage, and classic. Cienfuegos is a go to smoke for me :)

Re: The confessional...
not a maduro fan also. nor CAO, gurhka, rocky patel - if that's actually a confession...

Re: The confessional...
Oh father it has been eight years since my last confessional...
My friends consider me a go-to on cigar information when in fact I am a relative noob. Despite my lack of experience I still enjoy that I am seen as an aficionado and will ride that train for the ego boost alone. I figure though if I can get any of them to start smoking cigars regularly I have done the world a fine deed. That might not seem bad but I do try and be as honest as possible so it bothers me a bit. I only enjoy the AF Hemingway and I've sampled a wide assortment of non-opus related AF cigars. The biggest sin? Empty humidor :( Well I have a Ashton VSG I'm saving for my birthday but that is months away. How many Hail Marys? |
Re: The confessional...
I gave my friend a Cremosa without warning him...
...he should be on here to confess that he actually enjoyed it :r |
Re: The confessional...
I started off smoking acids, tried the whole assortment, and loved them. THATS a sin.
|
Re: The confessional...
It wasn't ME!
|
Re: The confessional...
smoked an almost german puro (pfalz zigarre)
tried to smoke a fake cuban but i couldnt get any smoke going. |
Re: The confessional...
I like most Gurkhas but don't really like Oliva Vs
|
Re: The confessional...
I think Cohibas are overrated.....

Re: The confessional...

Re: The confessional...
I used to basically smoke only maduros but lately I have really learned to appreciate lighter stix as well. That's a little backwards but that's alright.
|
Re: The confessional...
I sometimes judge a cigar by it's label/brand. I just totally write off cigars of certain marca's based on past bad experiences with them. The BTT thread is a great way to overcome this and I recommend it to anyone who has the same prejudice.
However, there is no saving grace for Gurkha. :) |
Re: The confessional...
I smoke Arganese!!!!;s
|
Re: The confessional...
I don't like VSGs or most Oliva products.
|
Re: The confessional...
I don't like Oliva Vs or V maduros.
Fuente Hemis taste like dirt. Fuente Green labels taste like sour dirt. I wouldn't buy Opus X if they were $5/stick. I have yet to smoke a Padron that wows me. Over half of the cigars I smoke cost under $3 each. The rest cost under $9 each. The 2 CCs I smoke the most of are: RyJ #2 tubos and La Flor de Cano Selectos. I will never buy a dress box of CCs again. I won't drink anything other than water when I smoke a cigar. |
Re: The confessional...
Hmmm where should I start?
My first favorite cigar was an Acid Kuba Kuba. I don't like Opus X, I think Anejo's are much better. There are cigars I won't try simply because of the name and what I've read about them, closed minded I know, but I can't help it. I like the Tat red's over the Tat browns. I don't like the Illusione Epernay. I am a maduro fiend and will smoke a no name maduro over a premuim name natural. Based on the few CC's I've had, I'm not impressed. |

Re: The confessional...
I once had un-pure thoughts abou...oh, wait this is a cigar confessional?? :D
Well, in that case I must confess that the Tatuaje T110 kicked my ass big time!! |
Re: The confessional...
I must confess that my wallet would get a TON smaller if all these people that claim to not like OPUS X sold me their supplies!
I also must confess that even though 80% of Rocky's stuff is mediocre at best, the other 20% are some of my faves. |
Re: The confessional...
An Oliva V has laid the biggest whooping on me to date
|
Re: The confessional...
My fiancee doesn't like me to smoke very often and tells me I can only have 2 cigars a week. I smoke 4-5 cigars a week.;s

Too many bad experiences, especially when comparing the dress box version to the cab version of the "same" cigar. Best examples from my experience are RASS, RyJ Exhibicion #4 and ERDM Choix Supreme. Cabs are incredible. Dress boxes? You couldn't convince me it's the same cigar. Also never gotten a cab (or box of tubos) with mold on them. I've gotten plenty of dress boxes with mold though. A few so bad I sent them back. And most of the plugged sticks I've gotten are from dress boxes. |

I need to cleanse myself again.
I'll throw away 3/4 of a cigar if it's not doing it for me. I've fallen asleep while smoking a cigar. I have no urge to even try an Opus X. I actually like some Gurkha sticks. |
Re: The confessional...
I've passed out smoking a cigar.

My girlfriend hates me smoking and I told her I would only smoke 3 a week. I smoke about 5-7 every week. Also I think Cohibas taste terrible. |
Re: The confessional...
I have yet to find an Opus I enjoy, although I love Anejos with a passion.
Doug mentioned the Rocky Patel thing. A couple of my favorite cigars are super low rung Rocky's. Most of my favorite cigars are cheap $.50 to $3.00 cigars. In the last six months I have smoked so rarely that I always reach for something like an Anejo or a DC Anniversario, or other expensive stuff just because I feel "okay" about smoking them, because I'm smoking so seldom. I always want a cigar, but I've been stuck in the house so much I can't squeeze one in. |
Re: The confessional...
I've lit the wrong end of a cigar before
I hate maduros I like the occasional candela PSD4s suck That is all :ss |

Re: The confessional...
I have never purged a lighter, just add fluid when I feel like it and never had any lighters stop working on me, including a number of Colibri lighters. Colibri makes the best lighter I own.
Diamond Crown Maximus is a much better cigar than Opus X. The only decent cigars that Padron makes is their Anniversary Series and I won't even buy them at MSRP. I once got two free sticks at a B+M because he thought I would be coming back and buying a lot more smokes, I haven't been back since. Not being a dick its just a long way from my house and they are uber expensive. The best B+M for prices is 20 miles away from my house but I can't even smoke in it. The best B+M for their lounge is 2000 miles away from my house but they are too expensive to buy from. :tu |
Re: The confessional...
I once bought ERDM and LGC (NCs), took off the bands, put them on some JR alternative sticks, re-celloed them and gave them to my brother for Christmas.
No. He didn't notice. I guess all the Molson and Kessler's he drank stiffled his taste buds.:D |
