Maduro Oily wrapper cigars, which one?

I've been reading online and seeing in catalogs about the Maduro's Oily wrapper. I want to see/try one of these first hand, and I was wondering for some good suggestions. Sure all cigars are personal taste, but maybe we can settle on on good cigar that shows Maduro's oily wrapper.

First one that comes to mind is the La Flor Dominicana Cabinet Maduro. Litto makes a Grand Maduro line; the Cabinet Maduros are the same blend as the Grand Maduro only Litto handpicks the best looking maduros for the 50 count cabinets. The Cabinet Maduros are some of the most oily maduros I've seen.

Cigar dipped in Penzoil. Mmm

Or try a Man o War. It's the only one I've had so far that I'd call 'oily.'

Man o War, I've seen reviews on them and they seem to be pretty good. Does a maduro wrapper have that spicy flavor too

The MOW is very front and end loaded with pepper. The middle is a medium bodied smoke, with the ends being full. If you're not a fan of pepper, it's not for you.

I love pepper, never experienced it in a cigar.

I wasn't sure that they were all considered oily maduros. Well yes I do have maduros that I gotten from members. But people talk about oily maduro wrappers and the maduros I have here well are not oily, at least IMO. Or I must have the wrong idea on what an oily wrapper must be.

IME, you won't actually have oils dripping off the cigar. The wrapper will have a nice sheen to it, or plume if it's got some age on it.

La Flor Dominicana Cabinet Maduro. Oiliest single batch of cigars I've ever seen at any shop. Never bought one (I'm scared) but I sure like to look at them.

Re: Maduro Oily wrapper cigars, which one?

LFD's often times are oily. What you really need to do is go to your local B+M and check out how the wrappers on their cigars look. I love it when you find a cigar that looks so oily that it looks like it would drip oil if you squeezed it.

Re: Maduro Oily wrapper cigars, which one?

Here, note the shine on the wrapper, how it almost glistens...that's what is meant by oily.

Kinna sorta. Plume isn't the oils directly, but it can be related to them.

Plume is a whiteish crystaline powder almost always spread evenly over the cigar. Some cigars never plume, some plume quickly.

Here - two photos (neither of these photos are mine)

cigar on the left is plume, cigar on the right is mold.

Padillia Obsidians are pretty oily but keep a spare can of fuel handy as they don't like to stay lit for long unless they've had a long nap.

I think they spray them with varnish, urethane or shellac before they mount them for the photos.
