Looks like this is the new box for the next Monster Series. I have yet to try a Tatuaje Frank, but I will be damn sure to get a box of The Drac. I'll see if I can beat Klipsch to the punch. :ss

I'm sure it comes out October 31st but people seem to have been able to get there's a few days earlier. It's good to know people.

Tatuaje cigars on facebook is questioning whether or not they are going to get these out on time for halloween. Pete Johnson is also making comments he is busting his ass to make sure they do. Sounds like an attempt to hype em up a bit more. Hopefully he sends them out to more than just 13 retailers. Maybe 31 this time, who knows.

I was at Corona Cigars yesterday and Alex told me they will be getting them in a few days before Halloween. This is straight from Pete he told me.

As dinner comes to a close and we are debating lighting up the Drac, Pete dissappears into the drying room again to retrieve another Black Torpedo and Drac for himself (his Drac was handed out during dinner as well - to Colin from ECCJ). He returns with two more cigars for each of us - the upcoming Verocu tubo and a Frank Undressed and the remaining bundle of Dracs. "For this evening". Shaking our heads, we now realize that we have all of the new cigars. (Black Tubo, Verocu Tubo, Drac, Frank Undressed - and smoked La Verite earlier) I borrow Pete's extra Black Tubo and line the four up for a quick photo.

The Frank Undressed is the same cigar with another wrapper? Well, that makes it an entirely different cigar yet again. The blend comes through even more without the broadleaf wrapper from the original Frank released last year. This one is just as special. We saw the white boxes that will house 10 of these sticks while at the trade show in New Orleans. We all agree that it is incredible and that we are incredibly lucky to have a chance to smoke it here at it's source.

Looks like The Drac is a Belicoso style, there will be a Tatuaje Black Torpedo and The Frank Undressed. Cool stuff.

I read the same blog on NHC, and read another review as well. Very favorable, though the other guy liked the new Black tubo more than the Drac.

I'm hoping to split a box of Drac with someone, but the first problem is finding out where they will be available, then finding someone near there to do a split. With a lot of luck it will be near me and I can be the pick-up boy for people, lol.

Pete is probably going to limit the number of boxes again to 666 and to only 13 retailers. When he first talked about the Monster series, that was his goal for each year's release. He usually will announce the retailers on his site in late September and the boxes go out in October. Last year, the retailer here in DFW had them all sold before they ever got to the location. I highly doubt that any of last years' retailers will be getting the Drac this year, but you never know.

This is all true...

Having said that, the release is about double what the Frank was (frank was 666 boxes, the Drac will be about 1300) and while 13 retailers will get the VAST majority of the boxes, Pete is sending a few boxes to most of the retailers who sell Tats, to spread the love around...

Pete had this to say a couple of months ago....

"The "Drac" wrapper is Habano Oscuro or Maduro........Similar wrapper color to the Cojonu 2009.

The 13 stores picked will get a larger allocation but every store in the top 130 or so will get at least a few boxes. The messed up part is I am putting the spooky tickets inside the bundles. So, I am guessing there will not be any sealed boxes out there unless the tickets are found early.

Not this year....total of 1300 boxes....Plus the 650 boxes of the Frank out of costume.......name was going to be Boris but I need to clear it with a friend who has the name already maybe just B.K.

I´m giving away one Ducati Monster 696 with the Spooky Tickets. Yes, Golden Tickets like Willy Wonka....1 winner 13 tickets.....hidden somewhere in the 1950 boxes....1300 Dracs and 650 B.K.

Frank out of costume.....Boris Karloff. No box press and about a half inch shorter......and a possibly a different wrapper. Maybe I´ll keep the same wrapper....Don´t know!"

Dracs $13/each only available in boxes of 13 (October 31st)

Black Tubos $14/each in boxes of 10 (November sometime)

Verocu Tubos $11/each in boxes of 10 (same as Black Tubos)

I'd REALLY love 2 boxes of each, but I know I can't swing that, lol.

If people are really interested in getting some when I find out how many boxes they are getting I will see if he'll let me get more than 1. If he does I will either sell by the box if you want or break it up.

He still can't tell me how much a box will be or when exactly they will be receiving them, but he did say they got the Franks last year and they expect to get the Dracs this year.

I have heard that this years allocation will work the same as last year. 13 retailers will be chosen at random to receive the Drac. Gloucester Street Cigars in Boston will get them again this year, as Pete has mentioned that it was their idea for this "concept." Except for Gloucester Street, none of the other 12 will be eligible for the main shipment of 50-ish boxes each (666 boxes between 13 retailers). Last year, only Tatuaje's Top 100 retailers were eligible for these cigars, so I would assume that they will be chosen that way again. I have also heard the rumor that there will be some extra boxes so that other retailers will get the opportunity to get a few each. All that being said: It's Pete's company and he can do what he wants in any way he wants. So any of the above could be subject to change. :ss
