Desert Island Cigar
Alright, as per my introduction, I'm new to this obsession, so in an effort to make a list of "Must try someday," I propose the following scenario:
You find yourself shipwrecked on a desert island. The good news is, a higher power has agreed to supply all the food and drink you may need, and, being a nice higher power, he/she allows you delivery of ONE cigar (as many as you need of course)...what would it be? Note this higher power also has purchasing limits, so if you choose a limited run as your favorite(Opus X, Oliva V, etc), you must also choose a backup when the yearly limit is reached. What is your desert island stick? Also, note this is an NC smoke as the higher power lives in the U.S. |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Partagas Lusitania or Punch Double Corona- can't decide. Surprise me, higher power! :ss
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
For me its an easy choice - Padron Belicoso.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
1997 Bolivar Coronas Gigantes

Re: Desert Island Cigar
Tough choice to make. For NC, I would probably either go with DPG blue or Tat brown.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
That would be tough, I'd go with Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970. Grande Robusto or Belicoso, either is crazy good.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Perdomo Patriarch for sure!
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Original Master Blends, either robusto or torpedo!
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Right now I'd say
NC: Tat Cojonu 2003 CC: Cohiba Sig III ask me again in an hour and who knows... |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Party Short. The most consistent excellent smoke I've had. Too short to always satisfy, but hell, the Higher Power is gonna give me all the cabs I want, right? :ss
EDIT: oops, didn't notice the "NC only" part. Well, I'd just kill myself, so I need no more stogies :D |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
I'm still as noob as it can get but I would have to say Anejo #49 with a back up of Boli PC's
Those are the two smokes I have had that have left a great lasting impression. :tu |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Cremosa. And since I wouldn't be tempted to smoke them I could save them and build a raft out of them.

Re: Desert Island Cigar
In light of your 'NC only' update, I'll adjust:
It's the old buddy in my BTT Mystery Review #2 thread. By no means the best NC stick I've ever had, but pretty much the only one I'm always in the mood for. Maybe that means that, for me, it is the best. I don't know. Come on over and take a guess! |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
I'd have to go with:
Oliva V Torpedo And since the OP requires a back-up: Tatuaje Miami Torpedo |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Tatuaje Especiales or Camacho Corojo Diploma 11/18
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Tatuaje Reserva J21 or Illusione ~MK12~.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Illusione Holy Lance or Epernay!!!
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Pam 64
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
El Triunfador or original Padilla Obsidian
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
PAN 64 with an Anejo chaser.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Just saw the NC only clause... So I'll change mine to Anejo #49 with a Padron #5000 as backup.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar

Tat Cojonu 2003 Oliva V Lancero as backup. |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
PSD4 :dr
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
I've said it before and I'll say it again Cohiba Lancero!!! But since this is NC only... I'll go Ashton VSG!
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
JdN Antano 1970 Consul...mmmmmmmmmmmmm tasty.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
hm whats the best NC I've ever had? I'm guessing it was probably a Tat but I can't remember at the moment.
oh wait, I used to think the Bobalu '91 Dominicans were the best NC smokes ever. and this was during a time when I was smoking almost nothing but CCs, so it must have been pretty damn good for a Dominican cigar. As far as I know these are still available so I guess that would be my choice. |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Padron 64 or Ashton VSG or Anejo (all in Robusto size).
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Tatuaje Havana Cazadores
|

Re: Desert Island Cigar
Litto Gomez Chisel with LFD Especial Oscuro or Camacho select as backup.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Point of order, sir - is this greater power gonna supply me with a source of fire too? As any ancient Attic can tell you, the gods love to torture mere mortals - just ask Tantalus. If that's the case, I'll take Phillies Blunt banana - then there'd be no temptation.

Re: Desert Island Cigar
for NC, either cubao, 601 blue, or..... RP sungrown
|

I actually thought of that a while after I wrote the scenario. Yes, plenty of fire for all the standing rib roasts dropped from the sky ;) |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Tatuaje T110, and when those 200 boxes run out I guess it would be BBMF Maduro
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
VSG Torpedo for me

La Riqueza, Any Size.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
NC only!!!!
Marlboro lights 100's |
Re: Desert Island Cigar
I think I'd have to go with Illusione CG:4's.
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Hmmmm.
I think if he wants to strand me on a desert island he needs to supply me with unending Cohiba Lanceros. I'd take 08s I suppose, but 98s would be a damn sight better. If he's a higher power he will understand that I have principals I need to stick to. If he then decided to run 10k volts of lightning thru me to make me get right with the man I suppose I'd pick either the El Truinfador or the La Riqueza. But I'd be smoking a damn site less often. |

I finally had one of these last weekend and I would like to amend my former post. I'll probably get a second one for comparison in the next few days but I'm pretty sure I like the Riquezas better than the Tats. |

Re: Desert Island Cigar
For me it would be a tie between the Illusione CG4 and the Tatuaje Havana IV Hermoso. If I had a never ending supply of either of those I would be happy till the day I died. :ss

Re: Desert Island Cigar
If it is NC only guess I will stay off the island;s
|
Re: Desert Island Cigar
Oliva V Double Toro

Re: Desert Island Cigar
