NC - When I was in my early 20's a friend of mine smoked nickel cigars. They were cheaper than cigarettes at the time. He gave me one to try and they were nasty.

CC - When I was in my late thirties I was working in Canada and found a B&M that sold Cubans. Purchased some RyJ's and fell in love with cigar smoking.

CC's - at 23, a MC "A" after a celebration dinner.
NC's - at 25, an Ashton VSG enchantment (the small chubby figurado) in vegas while playing, showed me there was much more out there then just CC's, had my first opus shortly after that.

CC - I was 23 and it was a Montecristo Tubo I bought when my son was born(1980). :tu

CC - 22, Cohiba LE 2004 given to me by a friend in the wine room at Stanza di Sigari.

I guess its Stanza's fault I've gone down the slope and the Asylums fault I kept falling.

First NC was a Tiparillo picked up in a liquor store while heading to the beach with some friends to do some pier fishing. That was in 1969.

First "verified" CC would have been in the early nineties. A buddy's parents liked to vacation in Spain several times a year, and they always picked him up a box of Esplendidos in the duty free shop on their way home. We used to smoke 'em with a tumbler of Jack Daniels.

NC, I am sure it was a Swisher Sweet sometime in my teens

CC was about 12-13 years ago in my late 30's...almost positive it was a Monte #4. I will never forget how good that was.

Who are you kidding tobii... You couldnt have answered it even if it was "what Year" That was before numbers were invented or even record of time!!

Good to hear all your first experiences. I wouldnt have guessed that many of you started cigars later in life as you had. to all of you that started in the 30s and 40s, did you smoke cigarettes before that? did cigars replace them or do you smoke both now?

Well my first cigar would have to be a swisher sweet or Havatampa in my teens. At about 21 I had a Jose Piedra CC and a small Punch the same day (don't remember which was first) in Canada. My first nc was probably a Macanudo Portafino around the same time.

I smoked cigarettes as a dumb teenager who wanted to fit in. In college I couldn't afford them hence smoking Swisher cigarellos. :tu I rarely smoked them at all after a few years until given a Macanudo Robusto.

CC - 17 Rafael Gonzalez M. Panetelas Extra from 98. Damn...I mean DAMN! These cigars are awesome. They have a good taste and aroma is so amazing that I can't be sniffing my fingers after smoking one of these.:dr Found them from the basement. Propably left by my father.

My first CC I was 26. It was a Cohiba, and probably fake. That was the height of the 90's cigar boom. It was the night before my wedding.

NC-25 Don't know and it was an one time thing back then, but left my mouth in shambles the next day (I'd been drinking with some buddies). Didn't really start smoking until I was 30.
CC-30 First known to be authentic one was a Partagas Short gifted to me.

Call me spoiled but my first cc was when I was 15. Monte #2. My dad worked in Canada and would buy cc's weekly for himself and his coworkers. So I decided to steal one and smoke it with some friends. Foolish because we had no idea what we were doing and the elegance that goes along with the cigar.

1st NC 19 some kind of RYJ. I wasn't into cigars at the time and wanted to have one with a friend. So we stopped at a shop and just picked something out. Then I didn't have another cigar until I was 22.
