The Breath Thread
So I know that I can't be the only one who's significant other dislikes my breath after smoking a cigar. What does everyone else do to minimize the after effects of cigar smoking? I know that my girlfriend says she can taste the cigar on my breath for almost two days if I don't do anything OTHER than routine brushing.

Re: The Breath Thread
I use Smartwash!
|
Re: The Breath Thread
I started my wife down the cigar slope with me! :r
Now we both smoke. :banger |
Re: The Breath Thread
My wife hates it. I wash my face at the same time I wash my hands and gargle with mouthwash. And she still complains.:wo

Re: The Breath Thread

Another Thumbs up for Smart Mouth. This stuff really works at least the mint never had the cinnamon.

Re: The Breath Thread
Nothing - Lisa doesn't care - I'm such a loveable guy!

Re: The Breath Thread
Peanut butter. Try it. It works. You can brush or use mouthwash after if you like.
|
Re: The Breath Thread
In my last relationship I would have to brush my teeth and take a shower after being out and smoking.
|
Re: The Breath Thread
Usually some Eclipse Gum... or brush my teeth and rinse with mouthwash. :ss
|
Re: The Breath Thread
I find orange juice helps a lot.

That said, I just brush well and rinse with Listerine before bed. But I still wake up with dragon breath, so I have to ask myself what's the difference? |
Re: The Breath Thread
I have a friend that uses H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) stright. He claims it's the best. I haven't tried it yet (and probably won't).

Re: The Breath Thread
I usualy use gum IF I happen to be arround other people after smoking. Usualy I try to fit my smokings so that I can enjoy my cigar-smelling-hands all by myself

Re: The Breath Thread
I carry a little bottle of mouth wash with me.
:ss Chris..... |
Re: The Breath Thread
Brush, Rinse with Hydro peroxide, rinse with Tom's Spearmint mouthwash, and Eclipse gum. ;)

Re: The Breath Thread
Well, like an idiot, i chose Breath mints, but mean "rinse". she makes me brush my teeth AND either change my clothes of put on cologne.

Re: The Breath Thread
Lick a dog's ass.
j/k Brush, then chase with some drink. Beer is always good. |
Re: The Breath Thread
Sometimes I find rinsing my mouth with tequila is a good option.
|
Re: The Breath Thread
A thimbleful of weapons-grade plutonium usually does the trick for me. Hey, it sounds stupid, but mebbe you should try it first.

Re: The Breath Thread
Um, speaking of sources I haven't seen Smart Mouth anywhere, anyone for a Group Buy.
|
Re: The Breath Thread
Brush and use some mouthwash if I'm at home, if not at home usually a piece of gum.
|
Re: The Breath Thread
TheBeard smokes slightly less cigars than I do (he's sometimes smoking his pipe instead), but we're fairly close in the numbers now that I've worked for awhile on corrupting him down to the dark side. Neither of us minds "cigar breath" but if I've been at a herf and sucked down four or five (or more) back to back in a small area where a dozen other people are doing the same, I'm gonna wash my hair and toss my clothes in the laundry. Stale smoke hanging in clothes and hair gets unpleasant, even if they were damn good cigars.

Re: The Breath Thread
I always drink water when I smoke. Then when I am done, I rinse with some mouthwash. HOWEVER, my wife doesnt stop at the breath. She hates when I come home smelling like smoke. She doesnt really complain though. When I come home from the b&m I usually just hop in the shower anyway.

Re: The Breath Thread
With the wife, I have two kids, so I try to have cigar breath. :r
Around others I rinse with anything and chew Orbits. Going to look into the Smart Mouth. Mainly because I just like to keep clean teeth. |
Re: The Breath Thread
I tried mouthwash, brushing, showering and all types of breath mints and chewing gums. I also bought the top-notch IQAir air purifier (which does a great job on removing smoke odors), all to no avail. She was so sensitive to smoke, that I had to go outside to smoke my cigars, then shower and brush and rinse before coming to bed.
I sure miss her. |

Otherwise I usually just some citrus (drinking orange juice, or a lime juice gargle) & brushing to take the edge off, and helps the cigar breath fade. |

I dragged an old article of mine on this subject over to my current blog. It may be useful, but please feel free to leave comments there if you have some better tips! http://herfergrrl.wordpress.com/2009...f-cigar-smell/

Re: The Breath Thread
I brush then rinse with Smartwash. I also wash my "Leonidas, Spartan beard" (as my wife calls it). Smoke just loves hangin' on to the beard.
Now, I only do all the above if I'm around people that care, such as the woman I live with and the beard washing only occurs if I smoke before bed. How can I "love" her if she can't stand the smoky beard?...By doing the above breath/beard treatment...that's how. :D |

May try that Smartwash stuff but I usually will chew a lot of gum, Orbit Citrusmint.

Re: The Breath Thread
And as for the source for plutonium, I had a good one - but Homeland Security shut it down, the bastids. Good thing I had a couple keys in my sock drawer.
:ss That's a joke. THAT'S A JOKE! CAN YOU HEAR ME, CYBER SPIES? IT'S JUST A FREAKIN' JOKE! Sheesh! |
Re: The Breath Thread
I didn't see "trout" listed as an option.
