Greatest male vocalists
Some of the PNW group were talking about music this afternoon, and it was clear that it would be easy to list some of the greatest females vocalist [I'll leave that for someone else to start that thread ;) However, we ran out of names at about a half dozen great male vocalists. We're not talking entertainers or musicians -- vocalists. Yeah, MJ was a great entertainer ... but not a great vocalist. One name per post. I'm going with low-hanging fruit:
(1) Frank Sinatra |
Re: Greatest male vocalists
When MJ was a kid, his voice was sublime.

I dunno about "great", but my favorite male vocalists are: LEMMY, Tom Waits, and Howlin' Wolf. I wouldn't add them to the list of Greatest male vocalists though. :D

Re: Greatest male vocalists
his music isnt what most would consider beautiful by any means. but the man really can sing.... If he put on a suit and sang crooners, I bet he would have had all the ladies swooning over him.

Re: Greatest male vocalists
I can't believe it took until post 12 for Freddie Mercury to be mentioned. He had one of the best voices in the history of music, period. Roy Orbison was pretty damn good as well. I know he's not for everyone's taste, but Thom Yorke is damn good at what he does.
