I predict that the Maduro will edge out every other wrapper.

What say you?

Is this a threadjack?

I went with maduro but I have not tried most of the options listed.

I think you are right!!!:tu

Maduro fits some of the other wrapper varieties as well... I didn't go into specifics. Lately I have been enjoying the Brazilian variety as well as the Oscuro (mad mad) variety.

Sorry the poll threads only allow 10 choices!!!:(

I love Sun grown but saw it as a variation of the other wrappers!!! Given that tobacco is either shade grown or sun grown!!!

Re: Favorite NC Wrapper

Please correct me if I'm wrong, and I very well may be, but I don't think maduro, which would be my choice of these categories, is actually a "type" of wrapper. It is more of a treatment that other types of wrappers get, so that you can have a connecticut maduro, etc. It is just the result of a longer fermentation process. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I do love maduros :tu

I knew this was coming!!!

Yes... but, when you are thumbing through the cigar catalogs you don't get this much detail. Sometimes just an N and an M (Natural and Maduro).

What??? Maduro isn't natural???;)

Re: Favorite NC Wrapper

I love a good Maduro, but I had to go with the Sumatra because some of my favorite NC's have sumatra wrappers. I have to say that Maduro is a very close second.

You are right, they do give surprisingly little detail in those descriptions and I couldn't even tell you what the underlying leaf is on most of my maduros. I know I like them though, which is why I cast my vote for them.

Corojo.

Re: Favorite NC Wrapper

Corojo and then Maduro for me. Most of the smokes I don't care for are Connecticut wrappers it seems.

Re: Favorite NC Wrapper

Maduro FTW

but the corojo comes a close second and the sumatra bringing up the rear.

I was one of the few who voted Habano but I could have just as easily picked Corojo. I really can't say that I prefer one over the other. It's a case by case basis.

I dont know what the wrapper is. But I love the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos. Is that a Cameroon wrapper leaf?

Re: Favorite NC Wrapper

I chose corojo, but I love Ecuadorian wrappers as well -- ECCT, ECSU, and Oliva is growing some Habano now in Ecuador that is really nice... I don't know what it is about Ecuador, but these wrappers are extremely aromatic, and quite distinct from the native CT or Sumatra wrappers. :2

This is an interesting point, but I know I definitely check the origin when they refer to maduros. For example, I definitely prefer a Nicaraguan Maduro over a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro.

For that reason, it makes it very hard for me to select maduro from the list above.

Also, could Corojo be considered a type of habano wrapper? :D

Sorry - I will try to get back on track - for me, it is definitely Corojo. :D

Oscuro all the way

EcSu is almost always unbelievable, but when Corojo (and most of its variant, especially corojo 99) is on, its unbeatable.

Re: Favorite NC Wrapper

I always look for Cameroon wrappers, they are my favorite. That being said, Maduro, Oscuro, Corojo and Habano are second.
Candela is my least favorite.

I put Corojo but I will smoke pretty much anything.
