Smoking while driving

I know when you're just hanging around relaxing with a smoke, to correct an uneven burn you put the slow side down. But when you're driving on the freeway, window open, going 65 MPH, how do you correct that burn? I've tried searching for it but couldn't find anything.

Roll the window up a bit and turn on the ac?

Is this a trick question?

Re: Smoking while driving

I open front windows about 2 inches and open back windows all the way. This eliminates the burn issues. If it's really hot, I keep front windows closed, open back windows 2 inches and turn on the air. I am a freaking genius.

I just ordered one. I've got a road trip coming up and I'm planning on enjoying quite a few sticks on the way. Thanks for the tip :tu

Torch works best! That being said, with a soft flame I roll the window up and close the sunroof and turn the vents off... it works decently.

I really try not to correct it in the car going 80... but sometimes you just can't help it!

Re: Smoking while driving

I have had so many calamities while smoking in the car. I was boxed in by two rigs once when i dropped a fat robusto right into my lap--and it promptly rolled under my leg. Try not to panic in that situation...

But then again, what the hell else am I going to do on a 4 hour drive? Uneven burns come with the territory of being busy with the road, so i don't even fret about them. It IS a b#tch and a half to purge though.

Scott is smart, he knows stuff.

I smoke and drive all the time between Cancun and Playa and I agree with the others, just torch it and work your way through it.

I can't have the AC on as its a company car and I don't want to stink the car up, running the AC impregnates the car with the smoke smell - hard to explain especially in the rental cars...

I am going to pick up a Bobken too!

I put the cigar in my right hand away from the window and turn the slow burning side down, I try to just keep it out of the draft until it corrects.

Re: Smoking while driving

It may sound odd but I love the swirl of the smoke to linger around my face a bit. I roll the passenger window down about 4 inches and then just barely crack the driver's side. This keeps the smoke moving but it doesn't feel like I'm smoking into the wind either. If it's cold, I just turn on the seat warmers. Good stuff!:D

The formula for a perfect SUV smoke:

CC + triple flame lighter (sunroof + rear windows down - front windows down) = calm environment without excess smoke and nice even burn

Did it melt "through" or melt the "styrrup"? Mine looks a bit rough, but has never melted.

I love smoking while driving especially if it is rush hour with lots of traffic. I think the fuente hemmingway short story's are made for smoking while driving , easy to start and not too heavy. I try to stay away from the heavy stuff while driving after I almost totaled my car smoking an ashton VSG. As far as fixing uneven burns I ussually drive with my feet until the burn has corrected itself.

With your feet you say? I'll go ahead and get my turnout gear on now.:r:r

My looks a bit worn and beat up... but it still does the job... and for the $5 I think I gave for it, the thing has been awesome! :D

Definitely a must have for smoking a cigar in the car. :tu

Mine did--at least, two of the little ridges on the holder thing are both melted. I think it was caused by a PC or a smaller RG cigar that wasn't hanging over the hole. Doesn't look very pretty, but I think it roughed up the ridges a bit so that it works better now!

skullnrose 04-13-2009 02:46 PM

Re: Smoking while driving

Yea that's how mine melted too. Also if you plan on leaving a lit cigar in it while you run into a store quick check to make sure the cigars still in it after you shut the door. I'd rather not discuss how I learned this;) Let's just say It looks like I farted so hard It burnt a spot in the seat.
