Einstein's Riddle

I would prefer the googler's to not post the answer

Einstein's Riddle
The story behind Einstein's riddle is that Albert Einstein created it in the late 1800s, and claimed that 98% of the world population couldn't solve it. I am not sure of the true origin, but I have seen this one floating around the internet, and it is a good brain exercise. Here it is:
In a street there are five houses, painted five different colors.
In each house lives a person of different nationality.

These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

Einstein's riddle is: Who owns the fish?
Necessary clues:
1. The British man lives in a red house.
2. The Swedish man keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Danish man drinks tea.
4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the center house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The Blends smoker lives next to the one who drinks water.

Re: Einstein's Riddle

I got it and didn't even use a pencil.
Actually I got it wrong the first time, looked at it again and got it right the second time. The milk screwed me up for some reason the first time. I couldn't quit thinking about it and it clogged up the gears. :D
After I figured it out the second time I felt confident and was bored, so I googled it.

We really didn't expect the Army to be able to participate in this. Here is one for the Army:

What color is the desert colored Army tank?

a. green
b. tan/brown

98% of the word's population maybe can't solve this but I bet a lot of civilized, educated people would get this if they have the patience.

The real question is "Is the fish a wave or a particle?"

No. The real question is whether the fish was bought at a local pet store or over the internet.

Bah logic matrices. I used to do these in elementary school. I'm not going to bother.

They used to give me 4 squares, then 8 squares, then it went up to 128 squares. I can eat them up. They're super easy for me for some reason.
I can't do a rubik's cube, but I can put together those wood puzzles in two seconds.
The mind is a terrible thing.

Took a little work, but I got it. Unlike Scott, I had to use paper and pen.

Looks like cigar smokers are smart people. Like we didn't know that already.:D

Thanks for the puzzle.

I always found these things incredibly boring. I'm not a mathematical/logical mind really. I like shapes and can visualize most anything but I'm particularly good with language and my mind used to be like a gawdamned hard drive but I've been dealing with data corruption lately.

Re: Einstein's Riddle

I never spent the time to figure out who had what. I went the route of who didn't have things. That seemed easier. I had only "Brit = Red" for the Brit. I stopped when I figured out the fish.
