Eastbound and Down

Anyone else watch this show yet? Absolutely fuking hilarious.

funny thing, when you are on top of the world every mother ****er wants to get a piece of your ass. But then, you take a little time off from being unstoppable, just to regroup and relax, no one will give you the time of ****ing day. This face used to cash ****ing checks, and this dick wwmmmmm. I guess Kenny Powers ain't what he used to be.

Good show so far. I'm liking it. It's tough to tell how far they will push it.

I watched the first episode last night. Hilarious! But I don't see how long this can last as a series. I think they should've made it a movie.

I'm working on it. Watched episode two last night. It was better than the first one IMHO. Is Will Ferrell trying to look like Ric Flair?

just a bit off topic...but Kenny Powers related...

has anyone seen Footfist Way? I believe it was Danny McBride's first movie. You can certainly see the birth of Kenny Powers in that role.

I love it so far too, but I think they will run out of material for Kenny before too long. Hope I'm wrong.

The show got picked up for another season. Viewership grew by the episode and it was a success.

First episode this season sucked. The second made up for it, though.

This season is OK at best so far but I will still watch every episode.

I think they've run out of good material. i said earlier in this thread that they should have made this a film rather than a series. It's kinda like making Talladega Nights a series rather than a film. What would they do for the second and third seasons?

It's still humorous, just nowhere on par with the first season. I'm gonna watch every episode too, just b/c it's Kenny F'n Powers!

IMO the first season was amazing so it has to be tough to try and top it. But I will admit that I lauged my ass off at the scene with Stevie and the hooker.

It's a pretty funny show, I've been keeping up with it. Not to sure about it lasting....I mean I hope it will but I think it needed to be a movie as well.

Agreed, it's really picking up with some IMO soon to classic one liners.

I look forward to this going for at least a few more seasons.

Re: Eastbound and Down

I JUST stumbled along this show at the beginning of the second season, I guess from reading this I need to catch the first episodes. I'm hooked though. It's one of the few shows that makes me physically laugh out loud and feel mildly guilty for doing so all at the same time.

I can't remember the exact words of what he said last week but it was close to "I thought she was a hooker with a heart of gold but she was just a hooker with a heart of a whore." :r

Bill86 10-27-2010 04:42 PM

Re: Eastbound and Down

Yeah you really need to see the first season, it was awesome. Only 6 episodes too, easy to knock that out in one day. Full of tons of awesome one liners.

The second season started off really slow, but is picking it up some. Looks like he is gonna leave Mexico to go get April. :banger

Another great episode this 2nd season didn't look too promising at first, but now.... :tu

Re: Eastbound and Down

Yesterday at the World Series there was a guy dressed just like Kenny Powers, Charros uniform and all. He also had a press pass around his neck so he must have decided to do that and go to work. I was proud. We inappropriately hugged leaving all my non-Eastbound and Down watching compatriots VERY confused. They thought I knew him at first.

Last nights episode, wonderful advice: "That's love. Just trust me, it's better to be strangled by a necklace of Mexicans than to be strangled by no one at all." :r

The whole border crossing stop was funny. I also like he way Kenny talks around children classic.

I find it nearly impossible to argue with logic like that!:=:

I'm finally caught back up. This season has had it's ups and downs, but it's been pretty good so far. Don Johnson was hilarious.

Episode seven was the end? I thought they were going to stretch it out to at least ten episodes this season. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait another almost two years for season 3.

Re: Eastbound and Down

I finally got to see the first three episodes...not much of a cable aficionado. That is almost uncomfortably
funny. When they said in the first episode "Welcome to Shelby County Schools, I thought it was set in
Memphis. Apparently not. Later saw him arguing with that high school baseball scout and it was alot of
North Carolina talk. Good show, the funniest part to me is how he talks in front of kids. Good shock value.
