Conch Fritters are to die for. When I was down last year I ate conch fritters in every establishment I could find. I got some in Key West that I had to feed to the chickens. :)

Never had conch fritters in the islands, last time I was in Bimini they were out of Conch. But I've made 'em a few times at home, they've come out phenomenal, but it's tough to find fresh conch in MD. Seems to be a seasonal thing, only found 'em in the winter at Wegman's.

Did you get to go diving? I spent all my days snorkeling at Pennekamp and got my diving certification while I was there.
It was the single most awesome vacation ever. I can't wait to get back. I was supposed to go in January but we had to cancel.

That 1.5-2 hour ride is really rough.:D

When I used to live in NYC, I'd fly down every 6 months to be with some of my family who live in Key West. The pics bring back memories! Actually, I rather liked it in August because the water is so much clearer and there *seemed* to be less tourists (like me :D)

Very nice! And here it's gonna go from 50 mañana to 15 Thursday overnight! Loverly! Islamorada was the longtime home of The Splendid Splinter: Ted Williams. Or, The Splendid Spitter if you're not a fan. But, I understand the negative is there's no cold to kill the ubiquitous bugs.
