Latest Project: Catchers Mask
 

So, I am going to surprise my 16 nephew by painting one of his many catchers masks like a stormtrooper. I will hand deliver it for his game on May the 4th (star wars day).

2nd coat of white on and brought inside for some nice curing. Paint is smooooooooth like glass.

while the paint cures. I have been doing some designing. He wants a stormtrooper themed helmet. and one that is based upon the Vaders Fist Corps.

His school colors are Red and White, so I have changed the stripe on the face. So i did a little drawing to see how things might look.

Then, For the back piece, I have taken the All-Star Catchers emblem and the Jedi emblem and combined them with a baseball them.

Thanks. He is a badass on the field and a cool kid. It's an honor to do this for him actually. Plus I like doing it.

I have him and his father in a group text showing them the progress. At some point in time I am going to stop sending JP the updates and just send them to his dad. I want him to be totally surprised on the final product.

got the stripe on the helmet. tape didn't keep the edges crisp, so i have some correction and wet sanding to do.

Getting there. Just need to heat up the vinyl is some parts to get them to sit down correctly then it is clear coat time.

got the clear coat on it this morning and my rebuild kit should be delivered today. If that is the case, I might have a finished product this evening after I get home.
