Fine dust...beetles?

I just received a 5 pack of Puros Indios cigars from CI and one of them had a noticeable amount of dark brown dust that came out of the foot of the cigar. There was a very small hole in the wrapper but seems almost too small for a bug, but who knows. None of the others had any of this dust.

I recall reading elsewhere that dust could indicate beetles. Should I assume this cigar is compromised?

Hard to say.

How big is the hole and does the hole go all the way through both the wrapper and the binder, into the filler?

If it was a beetle, it's probably long gone by now.

Hole was very small. Maybe ball point pen tip sized. I'll take a photo of it tonight when I get home from work. Smoking beetle poop doesn't excite me much though.

This is what they typicaly look like.
I experienced one on a single stick in an order of 10, looked very similar to this.
Froze them all and disected the one with the hole and found the beetle dead inside.

You can clearly see the bastige right below the band, I touched him with my thumb and he exploded

This 2nd one you can't see the beetle, but there is a distinctive hole and yep mine had the dust

Fine dust + apparent hole = vermin

Even without the hole, that fine dust is a sure sign, especially if you can tap the cigar and dust falls from the foot.

Smoke it now while you can. Listen for screams.

That's the exact same cigar I got. They came wrapped in burlap. Aside from the beetle issue, we're the others any good?

Puros Indios would replace these in a heartbeat if you contact them. Some of the BEST people in cigars.

I contacted CI and they are sending me replacements. I had a couple cracked wrappers as well. Super good experience with their customer service. I'm going to freeze them all now.

Try the Viejo. Honestly some of my favorite cigars and are incredibly cheap. The people there are super friendly and do anything they can to help you. I have received tshirts, ashtrays, free cigars, with different orders from them. Really classy folks!
