camping cigars

Alrighty boys and girls, I'm taking a 3 day camping trip up in TN. It's car camping... so weight or carrying beer is of no concern. I am concerned about one thing though... how many cigars should I take.. I'm guessing a minimum of 2 per day. So here's the big question. IF you could take 6-7 cigars with you camping, What would they be? I know for a fact I'm taking 2 RP 1990's with me. Ideas?

Take enough for three a day. Fuentes for the morning with coffee.

I'm leaving for camping in a few hours myself.

I'm bringing a box full of infused stuff to pass out among friends.

Beyond that, I got nothing.

Before camping I always take the best sticks that I have, because they only thing better than the great outdoors is the great outdoors with a great cigar.

+1. I bring a nice selection of CC's and NC's. I try to bring around 20 sticks, because you never know what you're going to want to reach for.

Or, your cigars already may be in a cooler. Just bring that with :)

When you are camping you have or should have all the time in the world. That being said I would bring some of the biggest and best smokes you have, no distractions or time to be worried about. Oh, and bring more than you think you will smoke:tu

Sage advice. I did this for my brothers' stag, and it worked out well.
I tend ot pack more Churchills and DCs for camping, simply because you have the luxury of time to really sit and smoke a lot. Bring some of your best and some you're willing topart with, LOTS of beer and you'll have fun.

I would take a different approach. I would tend to take cigars with heavier wrappers -- wrappers that may take a little abuse or changes in RH better -- not something thin and fragle like the Connecticut wrapper. I also would not take anything too expensive or special.

Having said all that I would take something like:

- Padron x000 Maduro
- Illusione Epernay
- Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro
- RASS
- Partagas Short
- PLPC

Bring more than you will think you will need. You can always bring leftovers back but more don't magically appear very often if you run.

Bring some you have been "saving" for that special occasion ... what better time to enjoy them.

That is my mentality. I haven't been camping since I started smoking but if I did, I'd bring my best stuff. What more of an opportune time to really enjoy a good cigar than sitting around a camp fire and drinking a beer with friends/family out in the middle of nowhere?

I always take Backwoods as my camping cigar. I usually have one in my mouth throughout the day. I pack some good stuff too, but I usually smoke those later in the evening around the camp fire.

I'd agree....went camping (3 day trip in So. Utah) and went through WAY more than I had figured and was glad I brought the small cooler. Friends, brothers, etc. will mooch and you'll find you actually have time to enjoy multiples. As far as what you pack? Pack them well and take what you like. I'd say 2/3 mid range and 1/3 super cool ones.

Just my opinion, but I'm kinda partial to it!

I'd take RP's too and Montecristo's.

I'm going to have a little fun with this. If I were to load up a travel humi for a camping trip, and only from the stuff currently in my humis:

04 sig vi
07 esplendidos
05 plpc
Skull and bones "?"
God of fire toro 2007
My father LE 2011
T52 corona doble
98 boli cg
98 Monte A
601 blue
Tat red tubo
Psd4 tubo
Some arganese maduros

Yeah, that was more fun :)

Re: camping cigars

For a 3 day trip I'd take at minimum my 15 count and both 5 count travel humi's. As for sticks bring a variety...You never know what you will be in the mood for. If it was me I'd bring 5-10 mild/med sticks to pass out as well.

Boli BBF
VR Unicos
Monte #2
Cohiba Sig IV
RyJ SC
AF Hemmingway
AF Anejo
Opus Perfection #4
AF 8-5-8 Maduro or Nat.-This would be a good stick to pass out.
AF Queen "B"
Kristoff Maduro

Yea, that looks like a nice selection to start with.
