How do you buy your smokes?
Besides the obvious as in having a good job and making plenty of money, how do you buy your smokes? Do you buy boxes? Singles? Or Samples?
Reason I am asking, I was talking to a co-worker today and he mentioned that he is in need of some more smokes and says he usually buys 3 boxes at a time....I was floored. I said how can you afford that and he told me that when gets a smoke he puts a $5.00 bill in his humidor, but the time it comes time to buy a box he has about $200. This sounds like a great Idea to me....anyone else? |
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
If I did that somedays it would be $5 and others I would have to put in $45-50 on a good herfing day.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I usually buy by the box or if I can, multi-box splits....
|
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I usually buy exclusively by the box or if a Monster deal comes up that's cheaper than the box then 4-5 5'ers of the same stick. :D Just did a 3 box split :)

Boxes, 10 counts or 25 counts.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I've only bought a few boxes, been awhile since I've gotten one. I usually buy singles to try out and then say I'll get a box of them but have yet to do that. I usually get some samplers or if its a cigar event it'll be like buy 3 get 1 free kind of thing.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I see you are new here. I too shared your mentality. Then a couple weeks ago I intended on only spending a couple hundred to restock a little (I quit smoking cigs and have been going through way more cigars now), and ended up getting close to $600 before I was done.
And not 1 regret. :D |
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
Boxes and fivers mostly. A few singles at the local B&M.
:D |
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
A fiver first then once I smoke through that if it's box worthy I will get a box.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I used to buy a lot of 5'ers but they go annoying to keep track of. Now I only buy boxes so that I get the date codes as wella s atidy box to hold them, and if I like them I know what I want more of. If I don't like them I let them rest for a long time then retry.
Buying boxes also keeps the buying ahead of the smoking, which makes for aged smokes, so it's win-win. I'm building 2- 30"x16"deep wide singles shelves for the walk-in as we speak to hold all my stupid singles and 5'ers. Boxes rule. |
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
All I know (at least my wife knows) is that I spend too much. I tend to buy samplers to get a mix and boxes of smokes I truly love. Rarely do I buy singles or go to B&M shops to buy cigars.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
Mostly 2fer samplers, then. if I like something, I'll buy a 5er. Usually smoke rott, then put the rest away for at least a month or two. Only bought one box and it was an impulse buy thanks to the wording of the ad. Did smoke one of the impulse buys and actually liked it rott.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I buy boxes, bundles 5ers & singels what ever is see & like. When it comes time to pay I use the old debit card. Reason for that is if I cant by it cash I dont need it. -(P

Agreed. I dont even own a credit card. I typically get singles from the B&M's to try and if I like em enough, I'll put them on the list of boxes to buy. |
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I buy boxes, and lots of different ones...
but I have the luxury of getting the from the ISOM duty free...:r |
Re: How do you buy your smokes?
As I am new, I buy from my "dealer" DPD6030.

Re: How do you buy your smokes?
I buy singles and fivers of new stuff I want to try or HTF sticks. I buy boxes of my go-to sticks. I also try to get in on box splits when they happen.

As to the original post. I try to buy boxes (cheaper then singles). I will also do the 5er if its a good deal, then do 4 of them.:tu |
