Padilla 1932 Help
I need your wisdom please....
I bought these Padilla 1932 Toro's and I was told that these may be rare. I know these were made back in 2007 and it is a Padilla/Pepin blend. I was told that these may be rare because they are in a 13ct box. Does anyone know the truth about this? Here are some pics: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMG_0791.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMG_0792.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMG_0793.jpg |
Re: Padilla 1932 Help
Absolutely hideous cigars, send them to me for disposal immediately!

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
Rarity or difficult to find does not imply any added value when production runs are in the hundreds of thousands. Quite tasty smokes and no reason to save them for a rainy day. :2

I love the 1932 from Padilla... enjoy that box!

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
The Pepin-made 1932's are hands down my fav Padillas. Actually one of my favorite Pepin blends of all-time. I wish Pepin was still making them.

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
Looks like those where made in Miami according to the box and I know that not all 32s where made in Miami. So maybe that has something to do with them being special. Either way it is a great blend so enjoy!

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
If memory serves me correct, the Pepin made 1932's came with cello on and the "After Pepin's" had no cello. Correct me if I am wrong because it could be exactly the other way around, lol.

The only way I know to distinguish between the two are by the bands. Those happen to be the old bands (Pepin), at least that's my understanding. The newer ones don't have the "Padilla" in that larger orange font, instead their in a much thinner gold font. |
Re: Padilla 1932 Help
I just asked the Padilla rep. He said he has never seen a 13 count box. He has been with the company for several years.

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
That is the old blend, this is the new band

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
That stick was one of my favorites back then... smoked a new one the other day, not nearly as good.

As far as cello goes the Pepin ones did not have cello either. Script writing is the new ones the writing in Dans pic is the old (Pepin) one. |
Re: Padilla 1932 Help
The Pepin blended 1932 corona gordas are one of my hands down favorite NC sticks.

Pepin made had no cello. New ones had really cheap crappy feeling cello. |
Re: Padilla 1932 Help
I like that new band!

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
Great sticks, don't save em smoke em.

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
I have been in the business for a few years now, and haven't seen a 13 count box. Regardless, they are amazing cigars. Cuban seed Corojo and Criollo = nice!

Re: Padilla 1932 Help
These 13-count boxes were available in abundance on C-Bid four years ago. I smoked through several of them, as did many others. Good smokes.

I got a box of Padilla Miamis at the same time because they were all the rage, and they stand as the worst cigar I've ever smoked. :D |
