That is my thought, although the Reds announcers would lead you to believe that he will be challenging for the HR crown and Joey Votto's MVP award. They had a poll question the other night on who would be the best hitter on the Reds the other night and both announcers said that Jay Bruce would be a better hitter than Joy Votto this year. Luckily most fans were smarter than the announcers as they picked Joey Votto by about a 50% margin.

Bruce has the potential to be Vottoesque, but he's too impatient. If he could learn to be more selective at the plate, he would be a consistent .300 hitter. It's up to him, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen. By the time he learns that, he'll probably be in his 30s and on the downside of his career.

Arnoldis Chapman uggghhhh. Is it too early for the Cuban Missle Crisis? That guy can't seem to get people out and his velocity is down 10 mph. Doesn't look like he could be a starter (even if the Reds wanted him to be) if he can't even throw a single inning a day after an appearance. :sh

Drew Stubbs uggggghhhhh cementing himself in the top 10 in strikeouts right next to Jay Bruce. Maybe they should both go back to Triple A and learn how to hit. :bh

Luckily one of the worst teams in baseball is coming to town. Maybe it will give some confidence to all the players who can't seem to find their way on base. :hm

But Janish, Phillips, and Stubbs are on a tear so far.:tu

Rolen sucks this year too. I could be wrong, but I think he's done. We need a good replacement at third pretty soon.

Nothing like taking the security tabs off 6 $10 t-shirts, putting them in a bag and trying to leave the store with them. His statement from the Reds and the Reds' team statement were both a joke. :bh

We gotta get something going with our pitching staff. I mean come on! We lose three to the Bucs? And offensively we are hot right now. We gotta get something straightened out quick.
