Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Monday. We had a good weekend overall, unfortunately the Yankees got swept by the Red Sox: Friday evening, we did a shrimp boil that came out great followed by drinks and cigars; Saturday, Beth and I spent the day at her sister's house hanging new Venetian Blinds throughout the home; then yesterday, I cut the grass and afterwards Beth and I went to a fundraiser at the Polish Legion of American Veterans: https://plav16.org/?fbclid=IwAR2wiff...EUxKraAOXWBDNg

Good morning all, the coffee is on as always and it's Thursday which means we'll be at the Aroma Cigar Room in Monroe, NY this evening. I see that the Yankees finally won one last night after a 10 game losing streak. Aaron Judge went deep 3 times for the first time in his career with one of them being a grand slam. They'll be back at it today with a day game starting at 1305 (1:05 PM), hopefully they'll put up another "W" for the fans. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We had a good time at Aroma last night, a number of the regulars were out along with a couple of new faces. I see that the Yankees lost yesterday in 6 - 5, hopefully the can do better this weekend against the Rays. The NASCAR drivers are in Daytona this weekend racing tonight and tomorrow evening as well. We had a very productive and relaxing weekend: got the yard work done early Saturday and then went to our friend's home for a his and hers bachelor party. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's finally Friday! We had a great time last night at Aroma as the place was packed and a lot of the old faces were out enjoying top shelf stogies. The Yankees lost last night in the bottom of the 10th inning after Volpe tied it up in the bottom of the 9th with a 3 run homer. The Yanks take on the Astros this weekend in Houston, hopefully they do well down there for us fans. The NASCAR drivers are in Darlington, SC this weekend racing tomorrow afternoon and Sunday. According to NOAA, the weather looks good for us up here in the Hudson Valley throughout the weekend. I hope you all get to enjoy a favourite or two or........ :chr

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Tuesday. We had a great weekend overall: smoked some top shelf cigars; visited a couple of breweries and a winery; relaxed out back with Beth and fired up the BBQ everyday. Congrats to the Yankees for sweeping the Astros in Houston, now they're home starting tonight against the Tigers. Congrats to Kyle Larsen for taking the checkered flag in Sunday's NASCAR race and advancing in the Playoffs. Unfortunately, Army football lost in the last few minutes in Saturday's game against ULM, hopefully they bounce back this Saturday versus Delaware State at home. The Yankees got their butts whipped last night, hopefully the bounce back tonight. The NASCAR drivers are racing in Kansas this weekend and the NFL has begun the regular season with Detroit beating the Kansas City Chiefs last night 21 - 20. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's another early morning here at West Point preparing to remember 9/11. There will be a number of VIP in attendance this morning: 50 congressional delegates, local and state dignitaries, 50 members of the Cadet Glee Club, the West Point Band, first responders from the scene at 9/11, etc. Congrats to the Army football team for winning 57 - 0 Saturday, way to bounce back from last week. There were a few upsets yesterday in the NFL, that happens on opening Sunday every year. Enjoy your week all and remember to be safe out there....... :)

As a life-long Packer fan, I was so relieved when we traded him to the Jets. I was curious to see how he would fare there, and if another coach or strategy would work with him. I was tired of getting into the "red zone" in play-off games and having to settle for a field goal - and it being everybody's fault except his. Sorry, I don't like kool-aid.

I cannot say that I wasn't hoping to see him fail in New York, just so I could say, "I told you so!"

But it was sad to see him go down that way.
He is in my prayers.

I am curious to see what happens with Chicago and Green Bay this year.
Were the Bears over-confident? There may be something too that! They were the authors of their own loss?
Is Love and this very young squad in Green Bay better than people expected? That is what I am personally hoping for.

This was just the 1st game of a long 17 game season. Where it will all shake out is anybody's guess. All it takes is one rolled ankle and a team's season could change drastically.
And yet, a rookie could step in and with the help of a great defense, create a winning season.

My prayer is two-fold for the season - with an addendum.
1st, keep all those playing, safe and injury free.
2nd, grant exciting games and stupendous plays.
Addendum, it would be nice if the Packers win.

This weekend sports wise we have the regular season of the MLB coming to an end; Saturday college football from noon until late at night; plenty of NFL action both on Sunday and Monday evening; and NASCAR racing at Talladega, AL both on Saturday and Sunday. We had a fast and furious weekend: Saturday, I worked at West Point until 1430 (2:30 PM) supporting the annual Emergency Preparedness Fair; then afterwards I went to the New Windsor American Legion where we celebrated one of our members 100th birthday; finished up yesterday where I officiated a wedding at the Brotherhood winery for dear friend's of ours. Tomorrow morning, the Hudson Valley Honor Flight has a plane full of veterans heading down to Washington D.C. to tour the monuments and all. Then Sunday, the New Windsor American Legion Post 1796 has a chilli cookout in the afternoon. Sports wise this weekend, there's plenty of NHL, MLB, NASCAR, NFL, and college football to watch and enjoy. Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy....... :D
