:tu Exactly, no way in hell I'll pay $22 a bottle for a Sam Adams Brew.

Can't see your picture at work, Tony, but I know I could have gotten 2 GI Vanilla Stout growlers for the price, and have confidence I am getting a good beer.

Changing gears: I also saw the Guinness Black Lager. For those who have tried it, ho does it compare / not compare to the Extra Stout as far as body, flavor, etc. go?

I've still yet to try those, my liquor store is getting more soon and they said they'll save me some. But your math is right, Stones > Sam Adams any day of the week.

Christmas eve beer of choice is Bitberger. A smooth, on the lighter side, German beer. I personally think its more of a summer beer cuz i like a more hoppier thicker beer for the winter here in Jersey. But I love summer, soo much that I wanted to think of warm weather throwing some shoes in the backyard drinkin a beer and having a stick with the boys, which is why i chose this beer tonight. Forgot that the night was started off with a Paulaner oil can.

It's a tasty RIS with a nice amount of hops. That was one of my friends favorite the other night. Enjoy it Eric.

I used to live in Bitburg where it is brewed. we would go o the brewery gasthaus where it was pumped directly frro the brewery. If you like Bit try Wasteiner. it holds it flavor in transit a bit better.

I enjyed some Palm and some Stella yesterday along with Boujulais, Eiswine, and lagavulin...yes I feel a bit blah today.

Lost Abbey Serpents Stout. Dark chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit really make this a great stout. Really full body and full flavor. Great effort from Lost Abbey on this one.

Lagunitas Brown Sugar

Homebrew:
Northern Brewer Bourbon Barrel Porter - even I have to say this is damn good stuff
Northern Brewer Three Hearted Ale - very sessionable IPA.

Also, anyone out happen to be in a Surly Brewing company distribution area? PM me if so....

Picked up a 6 pack sampler of beers from August Schell's Brewing Company.

Would definitely recommend the Schell's Stout, this was unbelievable. Great flavor with a nice finish. I also enjoyed the Schell's Firebrick Ale, it was a sort of Amber style ale. And the Schell's Dark Lager, it was like a New Castle, except better.

I'm not sure how a dark lager can be similar to a brown ale (except for color).

I just cracked a Left Hand - Wake up Dead Barrel Aged Imperial Stout....we'll see if I enjoy it or not. Upon first taste, it's got that imperial stout taste I know and love but it seems a little light. I'll let this warm up and see if it gets better.

Verdict a big :td. It starts off very good but after that goes downhill and the finish is not enjoyable at all. I'd give it a 6/10

Abita Turbodog. Thoroughly surprised at how much I like it! I have never had Abita beer before but this is making me really consider picking up a few 6'ers in the future!

That's just what it was called, but it looked similar to a newcastle, except it was a little darker in color, and had a bolder taste. It tasted very similar tho.

I'm not a huge Stone fan but this one is a winner. Interestingly, it is better than all three of the beers from which it is made, IMHO.
