Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Good luck moving that contract, Pete. Maybe Edmonton? Does Suter have any trade clauses?

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
1st round in 2013. 2nd round in 2015. 3rd round in 2015. 1st round in 2016. Ducks are regressing. I think you can wave bye bye to Bruce B. ;)

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Leafs get first pick in the draft, J E T S Jets Jets Jets get 2nd pic,
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Yep - and 1 vs 2 depends on whether you want a centre or a winger. Our last flying Fin (Selani) worked out alright.
Now we have to wait and see who Shanahan picks. The Leafs will continue to suck regardless. |

Great Pens/Caps game. Used to go to Caps games when I was a kid in the Bondra, Hunter, Kristich, Kolzig era. Nice to see them making some noise in the playoffs again. Holt by has been unreal tonight.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I wonder if the Leafs will trade the #1 pick for Rask, or like Rask and 50 American dollars?

No - he has to stay with the Bruins, to allow for "balance". :D |

I can tell you are one of the people that thought turning on the Hadron Collider was going to cause a blackhole that would destroy the planet, no Neil this would be perfect safe, his 5 hole has been a blackhole for puck for several years now and it has done zero physical damage, psychological damage that's ...well neither here nor there. :2

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Jamie "fifth round" Benn is quite impressive, you'd think you'd hear his name mentioned more with some of the big scorers today.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I'll be rooting for San Jose or Nashville over St Louis. And if they get to the Finals, I'll be rooting for whoever wins the East. **** the Blues! :lr

I'm a hockey purist, love the game. Watch the playoffs through the end every year, even when the Hawks get knocked out early.
What's a "herf bet", Bob? |

Hell of a game by both teams, my man Holtby coming up huge for about 20 solid minutes and then it was just the wrong kind of luck. Oh and as a Bruins' fan Phil Kessel can eat a dick.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Pens survive a "3 DOG night" to get the win. Should be a great series with Tampa.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Dallas came up to play ... what I have NO idea!

Helluva start by the Sharks.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I scored a goal off a slapshot off my chin once, but my beard was about at thick as Kaitlyn Jenner's. ;)
Both Conference Finals series should be exciting. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Nice to see the sharks not just win, but win in the way they did. Much different team than previous years. Looking forward to the next round!

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Have to go with the Sharks so Jumbo Joe can have his Borque moment, although not the same circumstances and not quite as special, would still be nice to see him give Sinden the big middle finger.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Their backup is decent and had a great game, have to wait and see.
The x-rays on Ben Bishop's injured left knee came back negative, according to head coach Jon Cooper. Bishop was injured after falling awkwardly on his left leg. He was clearly in severe pain on the ice before the stretcher carried him off. Cooper added that there was no structural damage done to Bishop's knee and that they are "hoping for the best". The Lightning goaltender is considered day-to-day. We should find out more about his status for Game 2 in the next couple of days. May 14 - 12:07 AM |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I picked the Lightning to beat the Pens in the pool I am leading on another board, so of course Bishop got hurt ih Game 1. :hn

Actually, Vasilevskiy hasn't been bad and is clearly playing up to the moment while Bishop is day to day. |

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Let's not forget the goalie the Bruins held the rights to for less than a week, saying that this player was no Rask as they traded him. They were right that time at least, the player, Martin Jones, led the potential lottery Sharks to the playoffs with 37 wins and is hot in the playoffs... While Rask is off spending that 7 million a year the Bruins pay for his unique style of choking.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Jones 2 consecutive shutouts and 3 of the last 4, but the Bruins have Tuukkkaaah Mr. Fking Clutch Rask!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Well that was ugly. Sharks didn't seem ready to play until it was too late. Have been expecting it to go 7, just came out lackadaisical today.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
If I believed in jinxed (knocks on wood) I would say I totally killed Jones' night with my post. :lr

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Two great series, both likely to go 7. I LOVE playoff hockey!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Wow textbook wraparound behind the net goal to tie it up 3 - 3 late.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
And forehand backside to win it.
