You can see where I silicone sealed the seams to keep the front "accessory" compartment from leaking out the humidity...

That thing is amazing. I know I can't afford it, but I have to ask. Are we talking $2000+, $4000+, $6000+...

I know it's a good investment.

Received my Humi from ED. I will post pictures up this weekend. I will have to wait to get the humidity set in her as I will be buying beads and a remote humidity gauge with 2 to 3 sensors.

This thing is huge! Thanks Ed for getting her out to me and the great packaging.

When I saw the design of the humidor I knew it was going to be amazing. That things more impressive than I could have every imagined. I cannot wait to see the final product. I am totally jealous OldDirty. I’ll have to add a Waxing Moon Humidor to my long wish list!

Thanks! I first was contemplating getting a Montecristo 75th anniversary humidor but when I saw Ed's design of the prototype I was put back on how nice it was. We talked abit and I went ahead and ordered one. He sure is doing a good job building it :tu

Each drawer should hold 84 Toros.... so, 840... That is if you wanted 10 drawers.... maybe you'd only want one side with drawers and the other side open for box storage.... It's wide open!

Plus...the drawer on the front can hold a cutter, lighter, bottle of scotch.... or whatever you might want.... And then, directly behind that is the humidification with an access door, just like the one on the front, for the humidification....

Bill: According To Ed: "840" Beautiful !:dr

When I first saw the design my interest was spiked also. His work and humidors are amazing. I cannot wait to see it filled up. Is the plan to put shelves, drawers, or both in the slots?

It's been a while since I've posted....but will be having a few coming off the bench within the next couple of days.... I built out trays for 5 of them today... just a little clean up on 'em and they'll be ready.... Some interesting combinations coming up....

Been working on this one as well... she's not quite done, but close enough... I'll post again after she's lacquered up.... Just got a little exited...

Bird's Eye Maple & Gabon Ebony.... 30" x 14" x 10" for about 550 count.....

Did a few different things with this one.... She has a hidden accessory drawer, elevated legs, Two Way Mirror for the lid...which offers pretty cool reflection of your stogies when ya open it up.... surrounded by an inlay of cigar bands.... Wrought iron handles & a lock.... phew... glad she's about done!

Lignum Vitae (Tree of Life) & Brazilian Ebony...

15x10x6.5
130 Count
Two Half Trays
Bead Tray

This wood is probably the most expensive I've worked with.... It is the densest wood on the market. It will turn a turquoise greenish color and the brazilian ebony will get to nearly black..... No finish at all on it... just natural

It has maritime connections - and the BOTL that ordered happened to be in Charleston on the day it finiished.... He's a yacht captain for somebody... that's why he wanted the Lignum Vitae.... Cool Stuff! Picture myself and the Dan, the BOTL who ordered... I'm the guy on the left.

Those are some beautiful Humidors Ed! I think my favorite is the lacewood and quilted on the bottom shelf of the desk in the picture with you and Dan. That lignum vitae looks like a crazy wood too. It seems to change color depending on the angle and light.

More Humidors OFF the bench means more room for mine to go ON the bench... Can't wait!! :wo

Where's Waldo!

http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/DSC01552.jpg

This humidor is for Ranger_B... winner of the "Support the Troop" raffle.... he wanted a cigar band lid...and sent me the bands.... took a few hours this morning and pieced 'em together....

Oh yeah, I cleaned that smudge off my camera lens that is evident in the top right of the pics.... lol

Man it looks like the grand canyon from 40000ft. Crazy patterns in there.

Re: Waxing Moon Humidor Thread

I LOVE IT! If you only knew how much time I've already spent finding different things in that pattern you'd probably stage an intervention. Some main sights from a pow-wow with coworkers have been: two different versions of a viking warrior (i'm from Minnesota), a Dragonfish and a devil-monkey. Anyone have anything else?!

Thanks for the update Ed... I love watching this thing as it progresses. It looks awesome!

I know I had posted some pics of this along the way... but, I just finished her up today and thought I would post the final pics.....

Bird's Eye Maple & Macassar Ebony
30" x 14" x 9" (more like 12" counting legs & drawer)
540 Count
Two way mirror/cigar band lid
Hidden Drawer - sort of disappears in to the front molding....

The BOTL that owns this humidor told me a very touching story that involved his father..... so, it was decided to name this humidor... "My Father"

Enjoy.....
