I heard that Lee walked out of negotiations with the Yankees. If the Sox can sign him and that catcher from the Dodgers, Martin, I can't see who can stop them. :banger:noon:banger:noon

I love the Crawford move, but I reiterate..we still need some bullpen help.

I think they should have kept V Mart, switch hitting power hitter for chump change compared to Crawford.

Bunker 12-09-2010 02:13 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

I think if they thought he was too much of a liability in the field.

Maybe if they don't pick up Ortiz the definitely keep Vmart but with Ortiz they don't need another $12 million DH switch hitter or not

I couldn't agree more. However, I feel better about what the team has done so far this off season compared to last. I'm excited for the season to start.

Bobby Jenks to to the Sox, looks like he will be the first one out of the pen?
This will be Papelbons last season in Boston if they don't trade him?

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

I think they will definitely be looking for potential trade for Pap now if they haven't already, either way he is gone next season.

You know whats funny? The Sox are moving in right field nine feet to add more seats, and with all the left hand bats in the lineup, the Sox are know built for Yankee stadium :r

Sox's spring training is very lose the guys are having fun.
All signs point to the Sox's running away with the Al pennant:sl
I think they will will 100 games, this team is stacked :D

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

I'm getting excited now. The pitchers are all still healthy and seem to be doing well in their first few outings, (even post concussion Beckett). Our group of injured from last year all rehabbed over the winter and arrived fit and ready to play. The new acguisitions are fitting in well and all seems bright and rosy in Red Sox nation. The only negative I can see so far is that Hidiki Okajima has not regained his 2009 form ... he will probably be gone by April 1st, but we seem to have plenty of other bullpen help available. Theo's winter acguisitions all look terrific at this point. Tito has so many options in the bullpen and outfield that he doesn't know what to do and the Yankees are underwhelming at best.
Ain't spring wonderful!

Bruins Fan 03-09-2011 01:21 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

Okajima hasn't made the team there are two other lefteys looking to fill that spot.

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

Ahhh ... a new season is about to begin and (most) all things are right in the Red Sox universe. On the downside, Youk is hitting below the Mendoza line (but we all know that will not last) and Papelbon seems to be continuing his erratic ways from the end of last season, (if that keeps up he wont be the closer for too long either). Other than that, the boys all seem healthy, the new guys are fitting in well and SI has annointed the Sox as the favorites to win it all.
Hope springs eternal Go Sox!

Bunker 03-31-2011 09:38 AM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

Batting Averages don't mean squat in March so I am not warried about Youk. On the upside Becket looked great last night and he was the one pitcher I was worried about.

Cant'r wait for tomorrow to get this season rolling!

Yes, they need a change of scenery and a pitcher who can keep the ball on the ground. At least Crawford finally made contact.

Time for Beckett to prove he still is an Ace and not a #4 starter.

Let's hope it was just the Rangers. That team looks very good. I don't think they'll have any problem without Lee

Yankees Nation aka the Evil Empire is a bit touchy about the team's blatant cheating. I had one of their fans flip out on me after I asked an innocent question about the team's prospects if signalling is disallowed. Piss off one Yankee fan a day and life is better.:D:sl

Grrrrr Lester pitches a gem for 7 innings, Bard comes in walks the lead off batter, stolen base, suicide-squeeze one run in.
Sox get a chance in the ninth, bad base running by McDonald, game over, Mc would be on the bus to Pawtucket in the morning if I had my way.:mad

I knew their pitching would suck but never imagined it would be this bad. They have a realistic chance at starting 0-9 after this weekend.

Lester pitched 7 innings today, 3 hits 3 walks 9 K. What sucks about that?

So to me it looks like Francona and his staff did not get these assclowns ready to play?
A clue was when they lost 10 straight in spring training.
What the heck were they doing, it must of been all fun in the sun?
A bad showing against the yanks and someone has to be made an example of:mad:

Dice-k also pitched good enough to win on his game. The hitting has sucked as well this year so far. I would rather see losses in April and wins in October.

You're absolutely right. These guys are making the bucks, it's time they realized they have to produce.
