Very Nice. Can't decide if I like the Coffee or the Vanilla more. For me the Vanilla has just the right amount , not too over the top. Maybe a mixing is in order.....:noon

I had a bottle of Trader Joe's Vintage 2009 Dark Ale on Lees. It's really drinking nicely right now. I was hugely disappointed with this beer a year ago, but it's very good now.

Had a bottle of Sam Adams Infinium with some friends. Okay we actually has 2 bottles! Very pleasantly surprised. A little "fruityness" to the flavor but had a small kick at 10.3%. Glad I bought a bunch of bottles, it's been selling out quick all over the place.

Sup fellas?
Been gone on bidness/vacay for a bit and had time for a few beers..... not to say that I enjoyed them all, but tried most every Japanese beer and a few Japanese craft beers... and some shitty Mexican beers.
The usual suspects were... Corona, Modelo, Negra Modelo, Asahi, Asahi Black(bar far the best and most consumed on my part), Kirin, Sapporo.
But.... I found a cool American Craft brew pub in Tokyo that had an AMAZING selction at ASTOUNDING (my wallet had to go home 3 days early) prices.
Their list of cool stuff(not all inclusive):
Alesmith Speedway, Three Floyds Dark Lord, Gumballhead, Popskull, Lost Abbey Serpant's Stout, Lost & Found, Founders you name it they had it all, Stone Vertical Epic 10 10 10..... it was insane!!
their tap list... http://craftheads.jp/craftheads/Beers.html

:hm I've been wanting to try a Pliny the Elder (or Younger) for years, but Russian River doesn't ship east--I can brew a clone, but don't have anything to compare it to.

I CAN get Lucky Bastard, so that's encouraging. Thanks for the "review"! :tu

They're both complete different. The 10K seems to have an abundance of flavors and things going on (malty, hoppy etc.) when compared to the 9K. Almost too much and seems to need some time to settle down. If I had to pick a beer that's a meal this beer would be it.

I got two 6 packs sitting in the cellar and we'll see how this stuff turns out for the long haul.

Really enjoying this Victory Yakima Glory. Black IPA. Strong @ 8.7% , but not as alcohol forward as you might think. Malty and hoppy with a pleasant finish.

How do you like it? I've been looking in my area but haven't found any yet. I was interested to see how the two yeast strains complemented each other--and the label looks pretty damn cool by itself :tu

They went quick everywhere, I was lucky enough to find a bottle at a shop on the other side of 75 from TW. I agree with you that it was a good beer but something was missing.

I recently picked up a bottle each of Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Blauw 2008 and 2009. I shared the 2008 with a friend last night and it was excellent. Lots of citrus, plums and raisin, and there was no way I would have guessed it has 10% ABV. Just terrific, worthy of it's world-class reputation. The store I found the 2008 at has a few more bottles and I'll be picking them up this week. I haven't seen the 2010 yet, but will keep my eyes open for it.

Went down to Rhode Island last weekend and found a liquor store that had Anchor Porter. For financial reasons I could only grab a six pack, so it's been pure torture trying to spread them out and make them last for more than a few days!

Oh yea it's got a kick, I cut my teeth on 21% 120 minute IPA's so WWS's 18% doesn't bother me at all. :banger :banger

I've done back to back 120's and whatnot. Drank a full 25.2 oz bottle of 18% DFH Fort.

Also drinking another World Wide Stout.

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

I just finished a bottle of Sam Adams Infinium. Awsome beer but $20 for a 750ml is a little steep, but i guess its meant as a special occasion beer.

Bill86 12-18-2010 07:46 PM

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

I cannot get that beer but is does seem like a steep price for a Sam Adams offering. 750 ml's do usually cost $12-$14 but that's from Dogfish Head which IMO is a very great brewery. Not sure I could pay that more than once for ANY offering Sam Adams could come up with.
