not sure if I will use the rail. I am wanting to CC this and dont need the extra bulk or weight. Capacity is 9+1

Rob Stag makes a lefty. They're 2yrs backordered on all ARs. :r

You could always get a regular AR and put an ambi selector and bolt release and charging handle. Would make it easier to sell to anyone should you decide to sell in the future.

Doubt that buddy. It passed Senate with flying colors, You know the Gov is all for it. Just has to pass the legislature now. And NY already has a pretty restrictive ban going, as I'm sure you know.

I had an ankle holster for my PF9 and didn't really care for it. The LC9 is just a copy of a PF9. Walk around a few days with one of those lil weight bags on one ankle and see how you like it. :D
YMMV

I will try it while at work. That would be the often place I would use the ankle holster.

So the shirt is just over it. The holster I just got closely resembles that there, the super tuck.

emopunker2004 01-15-2013 02:42 AM

Re: First Firearm Thread.

basically you put your holster on. tuck your shirt into your pants but over the gun and behind the clips
Like so. Clips will still be visible but thats it.

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Well then, I can do that with mine. Main reason I was after the ankle is my work doesn't allow to carry. So if I really wanted to, I think I would be more comfortable with it hidden well, where it won't affect my movement to much.

for anyone using a .40 loaded with "safety ammunition" for home defense, these ballistic gel / wall test videos should be very interesting.

40S&W Glaser Blue 115gr Safety Slug penetrating Interior Wall

40S&W Federal 135gr EFMJ Versus Interior Wall (SHOT 2)

40S&W Speer 180gr Short Barrel Gold Dot versus Interior Wall

40S&W Speer 180gr Short Barrel Gold Dot, Gelatin + Interior Wall + Gelatin

Moral of the story - doesn't matter what ammo you're shooting, shot placement still matters, A LOT.

I carry Hornady Critical Defense in my .40. My fiance carries Hornady Critical Defense in her .380. I love the stuff.

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I'm sure all the stuff hits hard and works good... the point is, it ALL goes through walls, even the fancy safety slug stuff. So shot placement still matters.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with carrying the G27 or springfield xdc inside the waste? I already have an LCP for the back pocket but i have been wanting something for IWB option. I have made a chart of all the different .40s I'm looking at and the Glock 27 and xd are very close in size. The big size difference between the 27, xd and the shield is that the shield is .23" thinner. However the xd and 27 both hold 3 more rounds. Thoughts or opinions on any of the guns above?

What do you recommend for IWB carry for a 6'5" 330lbs guy... Just curious... Didn't know H&W factored into CCW carry but it makes sense... what factors does this change?

Is the 1/4" between shield and other two really that noticeable? I havnt had a chance to hold any of them yet as all my locals are out.

I carry my g26 with a Galco king tuk IWB holster to be honest cant really even tell the dif when carry my g19 other then a little more weight with the 5 extra rounds.

While you are looking at the shield I would look harder at the XDS .45 they are like almost identical size, I would rather have x6 .45 over x7 .40

Here is pic of my g26 compared to y xds
