Re: Packer fan thoughts

What bothers me a little more than the replacement refs bad calls last night is the NFL hierarchy backing them up all the way to the top. Is there no one at the NFL machine who has an ounce of integrity or decency to do the right thing? This "we got your back" attitude was carried a bit too far in this instance. Come on NFL, own this. I'm not asking to have the win/loss reversed, but it would be nice if you'd come clean and admit that you messed up. Right now, my opinion has you somewhere between roller derby and pro wrestling.

I agree, but there is no chance they can do that. They have to support the refs and their decisions, because afterall it's the NFL's choice to keep using them. If they come out and show a lack of support for the decisions of these officials it will DESTROY any leverage the league thinks they have against the Real Refs. As much as I (and i think most others) agree that the call was terrible, the NFL is doing the right thing in supporting the officials.

Question... Was the replay official also a replacement?

Yes the pack had a great game yesterday day. Good to see Rogers is finally feeling better after hitting the ground so often in Seattle.

I guess Houston is not the team people thought theye were....they couldn't run the ball at all even with Charles Woodson was playing outside linebacker :lr

Enjoyed that game immensely. I was, however, getting pretty concerned about the injuries: D.J. Smith and Brandon Saine look serious. Nick Perry and Sam Shields didn't come back in, either. Already without Raji, Bishop, Benson, Jennings, DJ Williams....

I know that every team has to contend with injuries...and we're not talking about Rodgers, Matthews, Woodson...... But, to tell the truth, I don't really care much about other teams' injuries...unless they impact my fantasy teams.

Add Woodson to the list. Lots of injuries. Could this be 2010 all over again?

Ugly game on Sunday, but it was a win.

I must say, I am hoping that the bye week allows a few guys to get healed up.

Ugly it was Todd, but a win nonetheless considering injuries to some of our key players.

It will be good for them to have this time off and continue their physical therapy back to recovery.

They have a couple of key games coming up on the road with Detroit at Ford Field and the Giants at MetLife Stadium...

Clay Matthews out for 3 weeks? :gary :jd

Jordy is out again.

Jennings has about 4 weeks for surgery recovery.

Keeping them (and all the others) in my prayers for healing and recovery ---AND--- that no others are injured.

...PACKERS @ DETROIT:gl

So here's my thoughts for the upcoming second half:

Maybe our RT, #71 Sutton, ought to get the lead out of his britches and learn to block. He's been totally useless against Suh of Detroit, holding penalties, and doesn't hold his running block long. The boy is getting paid to do a job, so do it. Oh yes, you may receive a little pain here and there, but that's part of the job. Just put that big body of yours in front of the other person and seal the deal...

Ok, rant is over...:D

Amen.

Let me add though, not much of the Packer team is looking good. Defense is stinkin' up the place.

Crosby doesn't know how to aim an FG.

How did he miss that interception, right through his hands and into Johnson's. ouch!!!

Wow. Another miss by Crosby. I hope he saved some money for his retirement. It might be starting next week.

Is there something going on with Crosby that we don't know about? I mean, this is like #4 he's missed today...

Maybe I just need another cup of coffee:D:cf1

The same wish sent out for you, Mark.
Just another black and blue division game. Seldom pretty, usually close, the only hope is to get out fairly healthy with a hard fought win.
I just hope Crosby's wounded psych comes around.

I just finished reading the sports section of the Green Bay Press Gazette. Not to many positive thoughts coming forward from their writers. They probably haven't been Packer fans all that long;)

Yuck! What a mess last night huh? Packers lose to the Giants 38-10. A couple of suggestions:

1. We need the injured players healthy once again.

2. Pass protection, pass protection, pass protection.

Did I mention pass protection?:fp2

It's a good day to be a Giants fan. But if both teams continue to play well we could see a rematch in January.

...I think what would really help the Packers is if McCarthy and Rogers would lose that hair growth from underneath their noses:D

Re: Packer fan thoughts

Wow....can't find anything good to say about that game at all. Don't think we could have beaten the Eagles this week. No O-line whatsoever. I've never seen Rogers looking so lost and beaten down. He looked as though he couldn't wait for the game to end - like he didn't even want to be out there. Did he ever even look for anyone besides Kuhn and Cobb? Did he ever have time to look for anyone else?

I guess the only positive thought I have from this game is that Rogers was able to walk off the field instead of getting carted off.

And what of that D-line? Eli can't throw with someone in his face - we didn't get near him. And, I'd bet the defense is going to be doing a few tackling drills this week.
Disgusting.

Although the score was more lopsided than I anticipated, the outcome wasn't. For reasons unbeknownst to me, Coughlin's Giants always play well in those scenarios.

:noon...Really happy to see the Packers pull out a 23-14 win over the Vikings at home. Wasn't able to watch the game, but only follow it through nfl.com.

Damn Seahawks blew their lead and let the Bears stay alive. Now the game is in OT...:po

Great comeback by the Colts. Watching the Vikings offense is more than painful. Ponder is not good, the wide receivers are terrible without Harvin, and the coaching staff seems to have no idea what to do besides give the ball to AP. Should have been an easier win than it was for the Pack.

With all our injuries, there is no such thing as an easy or pretty win for the Packers. We're just hoping to keep it close enough to give us a chance.

I watched a little bit of this at work. When the Lions were up 14-0 I thought, "Wow, maybe the Lions can actually win at Lambeau." Then Stafford tried to recover the fumble and punched it to a Packer and they ran it back for 40 yards. Same old Lions.

Good game by the Packers though.

I have been pondering some things. I have seen Rodgers struggling this year, and it appears there is discontent on the offense. Yesterday, when he to the sidelines, he gave his helmet away and then went off and was by himself. He did not go and look at pictures or a pay book. He did not go and talk with other players. He went and sat - ALONE.

I am sorry but that does not bode well in my book.

You may be reading more into this than it deserves, Todd.
Would you rather have him get into his teammates when they miss a block or drop a pass, ala a certain qb from just south of here? :)
Not sure struggling is the right word either. Is he having another MVP year?
Probably not, but I'll bet he's still in the top 5 of leading every qb stat. I'll take that.
