Sigh. Just a game at the end of the day, depressing as it might be.

Four things.

1. Getting conservative at the end of the 2nd quarter.
2. The onsides kick
3. Missing the field goal.
4. Porter Interception.

Bonus: Clark not catching the ball in the endzone at the end of the game didn't help either.

Bottomline: The Saints are the World Champions. The Colts are the runners up.

I'm sure they will be a great comfort to him when he wears them to visit Manning's section at the HOF, cause that's the only way he'll ever get inside:r:r

True. The Saints are pretty much the same level of competition as the Browns, Raiders, Chiefs, and Bears.

Uh. The Saints went 13-3 during the regular season, beat Arizona, beat the Vikings and then beat the Colts. So how do you figure they are the same level of competition as the Browns, Raiders Chiefs and Bears. You figure that out on the toilet?

Uh, it's called sarcasm. Responding that the Colts are chokers. The sarcasm being acknowledging that the Saints are NOT on that same level.

Sarcasm--it does a body good.:D

First they beat us, now he is knocking me down from giving it to a Steelers fan! Tough week in the Horseshoe Thread!!!!

I saw the game was on NFL Replay on NFL Network and I literally got a little angry. I don't know when I will be able to watch that game again.

I have managed to feel good for the Saints fans at this point though, so that is good........I guess.

You've gotta give us Saints fans a break. After all it only took us 43 years to get a Championship. We're not used to being in that championship circle with you guys from other Superbowl cities.

But I do admit that my favorite Steelers teams were QB by Terry Bradshaw and I've never liked the Patriots.

No sarcasm meant in this post.

Re: The Horseshoe Mafia

A little humor I feel obligated to share:

A Cajun died and went to hell.

The devil assigned him the usual punishment... put him in the mass pit where the heat was melting others.

The devil came back sometime later surprised to find the Cajun just sitting around, not even misting, much less sweating. "How come you're not so much as sweating here where everyone else is screaming for relief from the heat?"

The Cajun laughed and said, "Man, I was raised in the bayous of Sout Looziana. Dis ain't nothin' but May in Lafayette to me!"

The devil decided to really put the Cajun through it. He put him in a sealed off cave in the pit with open blazes and four extra furnaces blasting. When he came back, days later, the Cajun was sitting pretty, had barely begun to bead up with sweat. The devil was outraged. "How is this possible!? You should be melted to a shrieking puddle in these conditions!."

The Cajun laughed even harder than before. "Hey, man! I done tole you. I was raised in Sout Looziana. You tink dis is heat?! Dis ain't nothin' but August in Jennings!"

So the devil thought, 'Alright, a little reverse ought to do the trick.' He put the Cajun into a corner of hell where no heat ever reached. It was freezing and to add to the Cajun's misery, he added massive icebergs and blasting frozen air. When he returned, the Cajun was shivering, ice hung from every part of him but he was grinning like it was Christmas.

Exasperated, the devil asked "HOW!? How is it possible?! You're impervious to heat and here you sit in conditions you can't be used to... freezing cold and yet
you're happier than if you were in heaven. WHY?!"

The Cajun kept grinning and said, "Dis mean de Saints done won da Super Bowl!!!"

Coming to the Motherland this week. Will actually be staying downtown Wed-Sat nights.

Will be working Wed-Fri but should be done fairly early on Friday. If anyone wants to hook up let me know. Willing to drive a fair distance, I got nothing really going on except a steak at St Elmo's and checking out the stadium.

With every bit of truth that follows I die a little more inside. I just love #21 so much. Living in Seattle and having seen Kenny Easley play I was locked in to the safety position. I saw in Sanders as the man that could be #45. It is not over, but it isn't looking good.

To see non story attached to Bob Sanders just makes me so sad.

Re: The Horseshoe Mafia

I see an opportunity here. I just watched C Painter go 9 for 20, ugh. Leinart already has stolen a good amount of dough from Arizona. Add to what he made at USC and financially he has to be doing pretty good. Nobody is going to trade for him and the ridiculous amount of dough he is due. Come Saturday he will be released by the Cards and free to negotiate with any team.

Enter Bill Polian and the Colts. Cut Painter, pay Leinart close to the minimum, let him watch how a real NFL Qb conducts himself for a couple years and he may be ready to play somewhere in a couple years. The Colts will have a serviceable backup instead of the cast of retards that have been behind 18 for years.

I like it. This is what my Pappy referred to as a win-win.
