Android on iPhone isn't that simple yet, tbqh.
also, flash for any portable device isn't ever going to be good as desktop/laptop usage but it will work in a pinch |

I'm not afraid to do basic jailbreaking/hacking/whatnot (my Droid is running a custom rom), HOWEVER even with the instructions I'm not sure I'd be up to getting android working on an iPhone just yet. BUT of course, give em a few years ;) Flash for portables is HIGHLY OVERRATED, just nobody realizes it yet. Here's what you do - Take a REALLY OLD desktop computer and go to a flash website. See how your computer (and the website) runs like **** because it doesn't have the horsepower to run flash properly? THATS YOUR PHONE PEOPLE! Flash did very well on the web because it can be designed to be very frugal with the bandwidth.... rich interactive programs and stuff all can be run without serious bandwidth (of course it can also be made to be a bandwidth hog if thats what you choose to do). BUT that comes at a price, and the price is quite simple - WAAAAAAY too much rendering on the client side. |
Re: Anyone seriosuly looking at the new DROID?
Exactly, Not that it is a bad thing by any means, for it to work well it needs to have sites optimized to be low resource hogs, even with the almost standard 1ghz snapdragon processor going into most android devices, it still isn't strong enough for some of the crappy flash sites out there.
I'm stoked that they have mentioned a Hulu app and Netflix on Windows 7 means they are branching out now. |
Re: Anyone seriosuly looking at the new DROID?
Ordered myself the HTC Incredible the other day... ships on the 29th.

just went to verizon and bought the droid, pretty damn impressed so far. Hopefully the battery will last a decent amount of time. My old phone the LG Dare lasted forever.

Re: Anyone seriosuly looking at the new DROID?
does anyone know of a good GPS app? My friends on their iphone have one that is like an outdoorsman gps that tells you your location as well as lat and long. It would be nice to have for work.

Re: Anyone seriosuly looking at the new DROID?
spent all that money on the Droid with the idea I would be able to have the internet at my finger tips. Well after returning to Texas after a nice weekend home in NY, I don't get 3g on my phone which means no internet. Not happy.
