I've debated on building a 7.5" barreled house gun... but I'm worried the noise will be counter productive.... |

W00T!
Plametto State Amory has lower build kits in stock if anyone is looking for em (complete with magpul furniture :tu) http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...build-kit.html Now I just have to wait a month for everyone to catch up and ship their orders... and I'll have a new AR built... Which means the current one is going to the gunshow this weekend. At current prices, how can I not sell? :D |

For me, I needed to complete my build sooner rather than later, so I'm willing to pay the markup. But it's definitely not gouging, just the going rate today... |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Yeah....
I have always just considered building an AR, but recent events have motivated me. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
wow their site must be bogged down, it's taking forever for my order to submit.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Yeah...it is toasted. I think it went down. Will not even load homepage now.

Just found another lower parts kit option on slickguns $75 http://www.core15rifles.com/ar-15-lo...kit-99599.html That's just for the grip and lower receiver hardware, you'll still need to go find a buffer, tube, and stock, which will run you $65 for a basic one (at least the one I was looking at this morning, but it was from BCM). Stay away from really cheap "amazon" buffer tubes, they can break too easily at the threads. So overall, I'm still happy with my MOE purchase (since I wanted MOE furniture), but the other one is definitely an option for you, especially if you wanted a different grip or stock than the MOE. |

Ctr stock > moe stock

Although not a worthy 70 year old museum piece any more, it also doesn't fire like one. Actually it's pretty badass. :banger |
Re: First Firearm Thread.

Just picked up my G17. Previous owner either didn't like it, or needed the cash, because this thing is practically brand new. Still has the copper colored factory grease on the slide! Looks like maybe 100rnds through the gun. :tu |

Nice pick up!

BARE NAKED LADIES
Well, not the kind that will sing the theme to Big Bang Theory but will sure as hell make a Big Bang of their own. My new Armalite AR-10 on right with little sister M&P AR-15 on left, both bare naked for now. I figure it is easier to dress a lady than to get her naked.:r In time I will get clothing for them. I am like a kid in a candy store. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...26C0622B56.jpg |

Can't shoot it even if hadn't promised wife I won't for a while as no optics but as I figure, once I can pay off some debt, I can always find that stuff readily, whereas the weapon and mags won't be as easy. Now to pay off that visa bill little by little. |

VERY nice carlos! :tu
I'm jealous... still havn't found a uhh, big chested lady willing willing to come home with me. :/ Why did you promise the wife not to shoot it? Ammo costs? |
Re: First Firearm Thread.

Felt compelled to so I can prove I bought for investment given not really something I could afford now and will be sitting on a Visa card, with interest as I pay it off. If I were to go and shoot that now, she would use it on me. Good thing is I never mentioned HOW LONG I would go without shooting it.:r So, a few months, get a scope, BANG!!!! P.S. Just got email .308 ammo has shipped.:r:r:r |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Great scores Carlos!!

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Very sexy Carlos! For some reason I'm feeling tempted to bring my SKS to the next gunshow to see what I can trade it for :hm

On a side note, my department decided not to issue the M&P's and are sticking with Glock, so I was able to buy my M&P for $400. 3 mags and night sights. Good deal.

But honestly, maybe you screwed that one up. You could have sold it, came home with the cash, and showed your wife just how the "investment" paid off. Then the next time you wanted permission to "invest" in a gun, imagine how easier it would have been :) |

My fear is exactly what you mention. I am afraid that with scarcity and pending potential legislation, may not get my hands on another. Don't get me wrong, $1,600 would help out debt immensely but just could not do it. If prices drop, will kick myself. If they don't, I may have an even bigger winner eventually when and if ready to part. |
