Re: First Firearm Thread.
Yep, Midway has been around a long time. I've ordered numerous things from them over the years, as well as Brownells and Numrich.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Well known for their gunsmithing expertise and customer service. Prices overall are comparable. Some higher, some not.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Good to hear, hope their back order estimates are accurate :tu

Re: First Firearm Thread.
She hasn't even seen a dr yet. Nurses did EKG, took urine, and took blood. She's hooked up to monitors for bp and pulse right now. It's taking readings every 15min. More Drs supposed to have come in at 630 so hopefully this show will get on the road soon.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
ahhh, triage at its finest...
"ehh, you're not dying, look pretty stable... sit here for a bit, we'll be back in an hour or two" |
Re: First Firearm Thread.

Took her mother to ER, was triaged as not urgent and made to sit in ER for about an hour. About an hour and a half later (2.5 since arriving), she had expired from heart failure. |

I had a BP scare about six weeks ago. Was up to 175/120, for three days. Was clearly concerned but not urgent care as have been on BP Meds for a few years now. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Yeh well my wife is 26 but in good physical shape so it's just really strange.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
OUCH, yeah, I can see how triage would be a very painful word there...

Came home with some BP meds and told her to follow up with her DR

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I found a website with a reasonably priced M1a in stock... And someone sniped it while I was on the phone with my FFL. *DOH* .. so close... |

Depends heavily on the model, This particular model was the Socom II, although I'm not against the classic wood stocks either. :tu Two months ago on gunbroker, a $1500 gun. These days, closer to $2500. I figured $2k was fairly reasonable. |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Interesting looking at the (few) pistols that most websites still have in stock. The overall trend I see is .40 cal is still in stock. I can easily find Glock .40's of all varieties in stock, but most 9mm is sold out, even most 45 is sold out. Even 10mm and .357 sig is sold out! but .40 cal is still available!? ... pretty much the same story in the XD/XDM and M&P lines. Seems .40 is a tad less popular than I thought...
(bear in mind that the "nice" models of .40s like the one Carlos posted are still sold out in most places... but in something like 9mm, even the crappy models are 95% sold out across the board) |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Gun Banterers... I haven't seen many bad ass photos on this thread lately, anyone got anything they wanna show off?
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.

It's not banter! It's legit gun discussion. I'll have a picture of my new CCW gun whenever it gets here :tt I took the red dot off my AR and put a Daniel Defense A1.5 Rear right on it and put a magpul ASAP sling plate and MS3 1-2 point sling on it. :D |

I just buy whatever accessories I can get my hands on that are at a reasonable price, if they work they work, if not then I probably didn't really NEED it to begin with... |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
lol @ Rob. The DD A1.5 is just a regular fixed rear sight, no scope or red dot. The ASAP is a mounting point for a sling and yes about the sling.
Here's the ASAP plate http://www.loesshillstactical.com/Po...gpul/asap3.jpg Here's the DD A1.5 rear sight http://www.skdtac.com/v/vspfiles/photos/DDF.115-2.jpg |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
I added a new member to the family today. Glock 17 gen 4, lightly used. :D
I was really surprised actually, G17 fit my hand, but the 19 DIDN'T. I can't figure that one out... Once upon a time I had a G35 and got rid of it, just couldn't get it to balance right in my tiny hands. Same story for a lot of full size pistols for me... usually a "compact" model fits much better. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
That is strange.
Well the doc gave my wife a day off work for rest and such. I told work I was gonna stay home tonight too. This way I can do whatever needs done so she can rest. She gets stressed easily so I'm sure that's a contributing factor. Gonna have to get her to work on that... So Francis what's up with u going I Venezuela? |

I went to pick up my Ruger I-Tac 10/22 today...I had ordered it and had money down and when I went to get it the price went from 369 to 599. What a joke!

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Yeh that's some bs. If u ordered and out money down there's no way Rey shoulda change the price. I'd be like **** u then
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
ouch, was that from a brick n mortar gun store? Definitely not acceptable if they had your name down and locked in with a down payment.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
YEP!
Honestly, I grew up in small business. I don't consider it gouging to put prices at market levels on things I should have already had. It's good business. BUT equally good business is being HONEST. I don't actually have my G17 yet. Found it at my local gun store today. I didn't have time to do the paperwork, so I asked him to hold on to it. He put my name on a post-it-note and stuck it in the back, no questions asked. He expects and hopes I'll come back to buy it in a day. As for my part, I intend to buy it, even if I found it $20 cheaper somewhere else, because I told him I would. Plane, simple, honest business both ways. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
It would be different if he had to pay more to get it but he told me he didn't...
Beware OF Newport Guns Newport Oregon. Gun Broker name. gparmele1 He did sell one for over 600 through Gunbroker the same day but I don't feel it was a honorable way to do business. :2 |
