Yep, Midway has been around a long time. I've ordered numerous things from them over the years, as well as Brownells and Numrich.

Well known for their gunsmithing expertise and customer service. Prices overall are comparable. Some higher, some not.

She hasn't even seen a dr yet. Nurses did EKG, took urine, and took blood. She's hooked up to monitors for bp and pulse right now. It's taking readings every 15min. More Drs supposed to have come in at 630 so hopefully this show will get on the road soon.

Don't ever mention "triage" to my wife.
Took her mother to ER, was triaged as not urgent and made to sit in ER for about an hour. About an hour and a half later (2.5 since arriving), she had expired from heart failure.

Good luck.
I had a BP scare about six weeks ago. Was up to 175/120, for three days.
Was clearly concerned but not urgent care as have been on BP Meds for a few years now.

I was willing to pony up $2k.

Depends heavily on the model, This particular model was the Socom II, although I'm not against the classic wood stocks either. :tu

Two months ago on gunbroker, a $1500 gun. These days, closer to $2500. I figured $2k was fairly reasonable.

That Springfield M1A is one awesome impressive rifle.
I am going nuts waiting for UPS to update their site with my AR10 info.

I love the AR10 too... I had just decided on an M1A. But at this point, I'd be quite happy with an AR10 as well.. although the M1a does have the advantage of not looking so "tactical" to the casual observer.

FUNNY THING, I was looking at an AR10 the first week of December and decided to wait. :r :bh

Interesting looking at the (few) pistols that most websites still have in stock. The overall trend I see is .40 cal is still in stock. I can easily find Glock .40's of all varieties in stock, but most 9mm is sold out, even most 45 is sold out. Even 10mm and .357 sig is sold out! but .40 cal is still available!? ... pretty much the same story in the XD/XDM and M&P lines. Seems .40 is a tad less popular than I thought...

(bear in mind that the "nice" models of .40s like the one Carlos posted are still sold out in most places... but in something like 9mm, even the crappy models are 95% sold out across the board)

It's not banter! It's legit gun discussion. I'll have a picture of my new CCW gun whenever it gets here :tt

I took the red dot off my AR and put a Daniel Defense A1.5 Rear right on it and put a magpul ASAP sling plate and MS3 1-2 point sling on it. :D

I think I can follow this, more or less, 1 is a sight/scope of some badass-proportion, 2) is something to do with the trigger mech? IDK lol, 3) a sling as in a body strap right?

I just buy whatever accessories I can get my hands on that are at a reasonable price, if they work they work, if not then I probably didn't really NEED it to begin with...

emopunker2004 01-02-2013 08:18 PM

Re: First Firearm Thread.

lol @ Rob. The DD A1.5 is just a regular fixed rear sight, no scope or red dot. The ASAP is a mounting point for a sling and yes about the sling.

Here's the ASAP plate http://www.loesshillstactical.com/Po...gpul/asap3.jpg

Here's the DD A1.5 rear sight

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I added a new member to the family today. Glock 17 gen 4, lightly used. :D

I was really surprised actually, G17 fit my hand, but the 19 DIDN'T. I can't figure that one out... Once upon a time I had a G35 and got rid of it, just couldn't get it to balance right in my tiny hands. Same story for a lot of full size pistols for me... usually a "compact" model fits much better.

That is strange.

Well the doc gave my wife a day off work for rest and such. I told work I was gonna stay home tonight too. This way I can do whatever needs done so she can rest. She gets stressed easily so I'm sure that's a contributing factor. Gonna have to get her to work on that...

So Francis what's up with u going I Venezuela?

Bad business for such a small town, He will be back to selling guns on the gunbroker out of his garage like most of them fail around here. And yep it was a B&M gun store. I did really good with keeping my composure, Bad rep points will cost him much more in the long run.

spectrrr 01-02-2013 11:53 PM

Re: First Firearm Thread.

YEP!

Honestly, I grew up in small business. I don't consider it gouging to put prices at market levels on things I should have already had. It's good business. BUT equally good business is being HONEST.

I don't actually have my G17 yet. Found it at my local gun store today. I didn't have time to do the paperwork, so I asked him to hold on to it. He put my name on a post-it-note and stuck it in the back, no questions asked. He expects and hopes I'll come back to buy it in a day. As for my part, I intend to buy it, even if I found it $20 cheaper somewhere else, because I told him I would. Plane, simple, honest business both ways.
