The Kimber conversion kits work with the 4 and 5" barrels.

For Christmas I got the wife (and me :tu) a membership to an indoor range & local shooting academy. It's been a while since my army days when I qualified on a .45 & M16, so I'll need a bit of brushing up. My wife has never shot, but has wanted to learn for sometime. We went for the first time Friday and rented a Glock19, here's the results of the first 25 rounds she ever fired:

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...A228560D7E.jpg

Only missed the target once, everything else was inside the lines at 25 feet. Pretty good for the first time out! She's planning on going at least once a week, renting a variety of handguns to figure out what we should purchase, and has enrolled in a training class for women.

I figured you meant 3" since it's an ultra not a pro, but wanted to make sure anyone else reading knew the rim fire conversions will work on the 4 and 5"barrels

Brian,
Are you heading to the Ft Lauderdale show on the 12th/13th?
I am going just for laughs to see how crazy the prices are right now.
Planning on also doing the Miami one the following weekend.

I have my upper kit, 12 lower receivers, and 4 (30) round mags. I'm not in a hurry to pay the inflated prices. I'll turn around and sell the lowers for some good money when they finally come in.

At this point, finding the parts to complete the lower is getting harder than finding a stripped lower. Most shops switched all of their machining time to just making lowers!

I'm heading to the gun show next weekend to see the carnage. Wish I had an "extra" AR to sell, I'd do it in a heartbeat...

I had just sold mine a while back (didn't want that particular model), and purchased a new one at the beginning of December. I feel sorry for the poor guy that sold it to me, he's got to be kicking himself now...

Hard to believe I bought my Armalite AR-10 less than two weeks ago for $1,400 and now selling on Gunbroker for $3,000.
While a $1,500 profit at a local gun show sounds tempting, getting one at regular price during such demand times and hanging on to it until I can get another eventually when and if prices drop sounds better. Would hate to sell it and then can no longer get one.

Yeah, when it arrives (shipped yesterday), after I stare at it for a while and hug and caress it, right into the safe for good it will go.
Don't plan on shooting it.
Will just rent it at local range whenever in the mood to fire a .308.

If you want more mags at a decent price go to themakogroup.com
They have steel mags that are great! They're like $19 a piece and in stock.

Great price but they kill you with shipping.
$19 for two mags.

My biggest problem is time on any replacement equipment. Starting in mid March I'll be south of the border for a year. So if there is a ban, or isn't, no matter, if it's not replaced in 2 months, it probably never will be!

Seems worthwhile for $19 with free shipping if over $100.

I think I'm in love.

Just found a perfect looking carry gun (to me).

12+1 .40 S&W, smaller than a kimber ultra carry, a bit lighter, with all of the lovely 1911 ergonomics I love. Note that it's NOT a 1911 however, they're calling it a "2011" design, I'm not sure what all the modification done to the original design are. Certainly something to permit double stacked mags...

There's just a minor little niggle with the price :bh

Para-ordinance makes some ultra compact 1911s with double stacked mags as well. I didn't like the way they felt in my hand compared to a single stack .45

Ordered three 30 and one 40 to get over the $100 hump for free shipping.
I don't have any mags with more than 30 capacity so I guess good to have one for the day anarchy comes so I can get off 10 shots.
I didn't think the price of $48 for a 40 is that bad when Surefire gets $129 for a 60 round one.
I am not a fan of anything more than this as more likely than not to jam.

Now to figure out how to hide all these credit card purchases lately for guns, rifles, ammo and accessories from wife.

Wide.... not so much! although a G30 fits my hand just fine.... (but a G21 doesn't!)

Regardless of what happens in congress, in April I'll be under my own Weapons Ban, commonly known as "wedding cake", and it will include all firearms (BUT with an ironclad grandfather clause). She's not pro-gun (not yet - you wouldn't be either if your only exposure to them was looking down the wrong end of it a couple times a year while getting mugged), but she's at least willing to give it a try. So I'm stocking up on anything I think I MIGHT need in the next few years! Selling it later is an option, buying it won't be!

For those interested in the Shield in .40.
Not bad, only $25 above suggested retail.
Given no one else has it, worth the price.
