Good morning all, the coffee is on as always and it's Monday morning and another day in support of defeating the COVID-19 virus. I actually had a full day off yesterday for the first time in over 3 weeks. Beth and I relaxed out back and I enjoy a couple of primo stogies, some nice red wine and some BBQ on the grill. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0415 as always now which is the new normal. Got to sit out back last night after getting off of shift to smoke an Alec Bradley cigar along with a couple of cold Newburgh Brewing Cream Ales. I'm planning to do the same tonight as they maybe the last night as the weather is changing with a few days of rain heading our way according to NOAA:

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's "Hump Day" or at least it's Wednesday. Last night, I did get to enjoy a couple of cold ones and a Pappy Van Winkle Toro that I've had in the humi for quite some time. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Ground Hog Day (LOL). This is the new normal for a while, get up early; head to West Point at 0600 (6 am) and get get home after 1800 (6 pm). Yesterday's rain and wind brought down a lot of trees in the area, no damage at our house but there were roads closed for a while and the power was out for a number of hours. Thank god we invested in a whole house 16kW backup Generac generator two years ago. Stay safe out there everyone and I'll be back on tomorrow morning........ :tu

First cup is now refilled. Sun & moon are both visible this morning here in the north woods. It is brisk, but the temps are to rise to near 50... I predict that the snow we got the other day will be completely gone by noonish!

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday after a great day off. Yesterday, Beth and I relaxed out back after I split some wood in the morning. We barbecued some wings along with a batch of stuffed jalapenos. Smoke 3 of my favorite cigars along with a few cold beers from Newburgh Brewing. Heading to West Point in a few, I know it's going to be a busy week as the President stated that he's coming for Graduation which means meeting after meeting after meeting. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0415 and I'm about to head out to West Point shortly. The United States Military Academy along with Head Quarters Army has made a decision to bring back the senior class (Firsties) so they can graduate and become Second Lieutenants in this great US Army of ours. They come back between the 27th and 28th of May and get ready for the 13th of June when President Trump (Commander in Chief) will preside over the ceremony. A lot will happen between now and then and more will follow. Enjoy your weekend everyone...... :pi

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Monday. I worked half the day Saturday (teleworking) and then did some yard work and cut the grass. Enjoyed a few of my favorite cigars afterwards out back and had a bonfire in the fire-pit getting rid of branches that fell off the trees during the winter. Yesterday was a stay in the house day as it rained all day and we caught up on shows we had DVR'd for the past couple of weeks. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Friday. Not sure how many of you are working the weekend, we have decided to split up the weekend schedule in the Emergency Operations Center here at West Point. Both for Saturday & Sunday, there's a morning, afternoon and evening shift to give everyone a little time off and relaxation. I have the morning shift tomorrow, with the nice weather heading our way, I should be out back in the afternoon enjoying a primo cigar or two and a couple of cold ones with the BBQ going. I hope you all get to do the same, enjoy and be safe out there....... :)

Sports are creeping back slowly, without fans in attendance. First is golf, a non-contact sport that allows for social distancing. Next will be NASCAR, which some don't consider a sport, and which is decidedly a contact sport. :r

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday. Beth and I had a good weekend over all: Friday evening, she made one of our favorites, shrimp diablo with muscles; Saturday, I was on shift until 1100 (11 am) and then we went shopping to the vegetable market as well as to Lowe's to get mulch, weed & feed, and other garden stuff; yesterday, we planted our vegetables out back and our flowers out front. In the afternoon, I enjoyed 3 nice cigars accompanied by a few cold beers while barbecuing some wings and stuffed jalapenos on the grill. Today, they are calling for a couple of rain showers which will work out perfect as I have to spread the weed & feed on the lawn. In two weeks, the senior class (Firsties) will return to West Point in preparation for their graduation on the 13th of June with the President as the guest speaker. There's a lot that has to get done before the 13th for sure, i.e., medical testing, shipping of household goods to their next assignment, etc. There are strict guidelines in place as far as social distancing goes, feeding schedules and parade practicing for the ceremony itself. Time will fly by and the next thing we know our Commander-in-Chief will be landing his helicopter on the parade field for the graduation commencement. We had a good weekend overall: major thunderstorm Friday night took out our internet / VIOS TV for about 15 hours (entire grid was out); Saturday was beautiful, enjoyed a few cigars out back; yesterday was also another beautiful day and we got to watch the NASCAR race live from Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday. Even though I have to tele-work tomorrow from 0700-1100, the Memorial Day weekend is here. On Monday, a number of us will be at West Point laying a wreath at Trophy Point in honor of those fine men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep America free. We will maintain social distancing, wear our face coverings and show it live on "Facebook Live". I'll share the link Monday morning for all to view. This Sunday, the NASCAR drivers will be racing at Charlotte, NC in the Coca-Cola 600 live on FOX. Again, no fans in the stands which currently is the safe thing to do. The first group (roughly 100 brigade staff members) of the Graduating class return to West Point today, they'll go through medical testing and then a 2 week quarantine prior to the June 13th graduation.
