This is Bugs, she just walked into our old house one day and never left. I named her bugs because of her eyes. Bugs loves to cuddle and headbutt when I whistle real soft, she gets her purr box all fired up!! I have never had my own cat and wasn't really in favor of taking her in but she has grown on me and is now Daddy's girl. I can't believe she does what she does when I whistle, it's like catnip to her (which is her other vice, she loves getting loaded on the nip!!)

This is Bohdan. Bodie for short. His registered name is Dan and Jenny's Bohdan Asher. This was an early shot of him still in darling puppy stage. He is very smart, potty trained on the third day home and using his dog door on the 4th day. He was born at the end of October and came to our home a couple days after Christmas. He was a Christmas gift from some friends who breed labs.

Bohdan now weighs close to 75 pounds, I will have to get another picture of him. We haven't been taking any lately. He comes from a line of labs that are notorious for being 105 lbs on the males. He's such a gentle guy and loves his mommy very much. He gets up on the bed and cuddles Mommy and licks Daddy's face to wake him up in the morning. He treats Bugs like a little sister and is very kind, playful and gentle. His nuggets are still hangin', plan on studding him out but I am new to all of that. I have all his papers and family tree and all that stuff so I will have to hit the internet and do some research at the AKC site and learn.

This is Shorty doing what he does best, laying around and sleeping;) He is a American Pitbull Terrier and 7 years of age, he weighs aprox. 80 lbs. He is my best bud. He is like a little child, well a big child, who thinks he is a lap dog.

Full grown they will be around 200 lbs each. :) They were 13 and 14 lbs when we got them, and in just 2 weeks they are already 20 lbs each.

They're great family dogs. Good with kids and stuff, really the epitome of 'Gentle Giant'. My wife and I got one when we first got together 11 years ago. She lived til 9 years old. Only drawback of the larger breeds is the shorter life span.

They're excellent at guarding property too. :D A great saying I heard years ago was: "Shepards will bite your arm. Mastiffs will walk away with the arm." :r

Story Time: We have a dog door on our back door, but it's a bit small. A border collie would brush it's back on the top of the dog door walking straight through. Our mastiff never had any trouble going through it though so we just left it that size. About 4 years ago when we still had our old Mastiff a UPS guy came up to the door with a package. He walked in the gate (4' Chain Fence) with the 'Beware of Dog' sign on it, and right up to the door to knock. Our dog barked, and went charging toward the door and out of it. My wife saw the UPS guy take off running and he jumped the fence like it wasn't even there. :D My wife went out to talk to the guy and asked why he walked in the back gate past the sign and he said he saw the dog door but figured because of the size we probably had a little terrier or something. Oops. He couldn't believe he actually cleared the fence. :=:

Wow! did that story hit home! My dog Max came from a shelter also. He was labeled as aggresive and scheduled for destruction the next day. I was working with GSD recue here in Phoenix when I took him in for foster. They had completely mislabeled him. 6 years later, he is an amazing dog. I have raised GSD's all my life and Max is one of the very best. You have a very beautiful dog. I just went through bloat and stomache inversion with Max so I know it can be expensive. Almost lost him. But it was worth every penny.

Here is a pic of my Chihuahua Benny. I affectionately refer to him as "Lil Bastard" or guido. He is the alpha dog with his iron fisted personality. He has liver shunt disease so it's a real joy to see all the new hair he has grown since putting him on a medicine regiment. I am trying to save up money so that he can have an expensive operation so that he can lead a full life. Anything with a mohawk like that deserves that chance ;)
